Landing gear problem
-
In two of my last five sorties, I’ve run into a very curious problem with ramp starts. I go through my checklist, and when I’m ready to taxi, I tap the MSL STEP button to turn on nosewheel steering. It doesn’t do anything—neither my joystick assignment nor the default keybind. I taxi with toe braking, and after I take off, I can’t raise the landing gear. Neither my keybind nor the clickable gear handle cause the gear handle to go into the ‘up’ position. Notably, when I’m on the ground, both the G key and the clickable gear handle cause the gear handle to move up and down. It’s like the plane thinks I’m in the air when I’m on the ground, and on the ground after I’ve taken off. If, after takeoff, I end the mission and hop back in, nosewheel steering and the gear handle work.
Is this a known issue? Is there something I should avoid doing while starting the jet?

Yes. As I understand it, when closing the canopy it is very easy to hit the ALT-Gear handle inadvertently.

Aha! That’s definitely it—both times, I fumbled with the canopy lever a little bit.
Thanks, guys.
