ILS Off
-
Hi,
I am re-discovering Falcon after a very long time.
I am now working at learning again all the details, particularly I am now focusing at ILS Landing operations.
I am a bit in trouble with the training mission TR_BMS_06_ILS_Weather.
For that reason I tried doing the same mission with a simplified situation.
So I saved it as a new saved mission, and from TE Builder I’ve modified the weather to be a little less challenging.
The problem is that when I jump on that mission the ILS is always off.
I set all the Tacan configurations, and I switch to ILS/NAV but it always stays off (as visible in the pictures)Even if I plan a completely new mission with the TE I get the same result.
Only if I load the original training mission, it immediately appears to be ON.
Am I missing something here?Thanks.

Try turning the ILS on: rotate the ILS volume knob on the AUDIO 2 panel out of OFF position i.e. anything else than the full counter-clockwise position.

Hey Flanker, welcome back to BMS and the forum.
You didn’t include a picture of your left panel, so I’m guessing you’re not aware of this little knob on your audio panel.

@johku & @Eagle-Eye thank you both.
It was exactly what I was missing.
I owe you a beer now -
Curious, what are these 2 knobs IRL… I mean they’re not on/off switches, they’re analog knobs… on an audio panel?
I vaguely assumed it was the audio queue for overflying the outer/middle/inner markers … but there are 2 knobs, one for tacan one for ils, so I really don’t understand.

Ground beacons broadcast their identifier in morse code. That code is also indicated on charts, so when you enable audio, you can listen out to verify you’re tuned into the correct beacon.
