Sounds
-
I just suddenly lost some of my sounds.
Engine sounds seems fine, both in cockpit and out of.
But now in the test I have lost Sidewinder, RWR, Comm1, Comm2, & intercom.
“cockpit” test gives a strange clicking sounds - not sure if that’s normal or not, don’t recall testing that before, I am still very much a newbie at BMS.
The radios in cockpit do give me the subtitles, but not the sounds. It was working previously, I have no idea what I did to screw it up. any suggestions?

Are you ramp starting? Does this problem repro even when dropping into to a plane mid-air… eg. one of the training mission TEs?
-
I do generally ramp start, but the problem persists doing a mid-air start.
I was just noticing The interface sounds have also disappeared. Like when pressing the commit button. Music is still works, engine sounds still work. I’ve checked and double checked my volumes.

Very weird. Not a satisfying answer but I’ve heard so many strange problem reports on this forum, that are cleared up by a clean reinstall of BMS – and set ‘C:\Falcon BMS’ as an exclusion in your antivirus software.
(Remember to backup your config / keyfiles etc first!)
I guess first check your AV if there’s any indication it has quarantined some items from BMS…?
It sounds like (ugh, no pun intended) some audio files were quarantined by AV or lost or corrupted some other way…

You could try to use another pilot or create a new one (incl. logbook)
and see if that brings back the missing sounds.
Cheers, :yo:

New pilot didn’t help thanks for the suggestion though.
I will try reinstalling.

and now I’m getting really frustrated. Complete reinstall - same problem.
For my test, I fired up the Ground ops TE. start on taxiway. Press the “Test button” that should give bitching betty. & nothing. Canopy sound words, key click sounds work.
Try the radio, I get subtitles, but no audio.Edit - found the files in Windows, played a couple “Altitude Altitude “ works fine in Windows. No joy in BMS.

Could this be the known bug that when you go to an external view it screws your comm sounds in the jet?
Try flying without switching to an external view and see if you have any issues. I think this is reported as fixed in the next update.
-
Do the sounds play if you push the “speaker” buttons in sound- setup UI?
… uhmm, maybe worth a try to reinstall/update sound drivers?
Cheers, :yo:

OK! I have fixed it. After reinstalling my audio drivers, went into the Windows sound settings to change my speakers from stereo to 5.1; When I did that and tested I found my center channel wasn’t working. Unplugged the center channel, plug it back in and I’m back in business.
Thanks for the advice everybody.

Why would I do that? What is this mod supposed to do? I’d need a whole lot more information before I download something from a Strange google drive link.

Why full “realistic” and why more than the stock one (assuming that you mean that stock one is not full realistic)?

The stock one is soo good u can use what u want if u do not like it .

What I would like to know, is what the mod bring more in terms of realism ? (this is no just a matter of taste)
