NVG Graphic Problem
-
Hello,
I can’t see cockpit with NVGs
How can i fix that problem? -
Not being that helpful with this reply, sorry. That’s definitely not right for BMS and not sure what’s going on there.probably some .dds overlay thing.
But I hope eventually we’re all going to have to get used not being able to see most of the stuff in the cockpit with the NVGs since they are focused to where you can’t read the stuff inside and you have to use the look under gap of the NVGs. To risk the slings and arrows, DCS models this well, although they have had the newer graphics engine for longer. Hopefully this is one thing they will model with the new DX11 engine.

The problem here is finding the BATT switch. The NVG would be the workaround but not anymore. The only thing you can rely one is the keyboard callback.

How can i fix that problem?hello, if your problem was after U2, you have to edit falconbms.cfg located in Falcon “BMS 4.35\Config” search for the Line 90 with some editor, the best for me Notepad++, if you use stock windows notepad you can pork the falconbms.cfg,
locate the line “set g_fAmbientmin” set to 0.10, i think is a good value for NVG, save and try it! -

locate the line “set g_fAmbientmin” set to 0.10, i think is a good value for NVG, save and try it!It was modified on purpose for a more realistic behaviour for night navigation and night fights. I don’t know about the AI behind as impaired as as human though (supoosing they can have night vision as well)

Use the SpotLight at night (Shift s)
SimSpotLight -1 0 0x1F 1 0 0 1 "CKPIT: Spotlight - Toggle"
It is by default in the key files

As Eagle Eye said elsewhere : it needs BATT first.

Yep, keyboard callback is the simplest solution to that - or binding to a physical control, if you have that many at hand.

A Torch/Flashlight would be ideal to simulate RL. I wrongly thought BMS used to have it.
-
Just a cool idea from our fellow DCS Viper sim. Some pilots use a small finger led flashlight for night flights, when ON the light is centered around the mouse cursor and moves with mouse movement independent of where the vpilot or TrackIR looks.
-
Yes, and IIRC DCS has a NVG friendly green light as well.
For RL, I think there may be mask mounted versions of these at well: http://www.gibson-barnes.com/prod-300576/Lip-Light-Mk3.html
In my RL GA flying, I’ve always found the finger mounted lights more cumbersome than expected. I much prefer an headlamp these days, but plan to try one of those liplights soon.In the other thread Mav-JP said he is open to making the spotlight call back not tied to battery power.

Concur used a head torch for GA also, it is a better option, as you generally looking for the switch in question. So maybe either making the spot callback independent of battery or give us a head mounted light that follows TIR or other head tracking solution
