Creating a TE with Refuel station…no comm freq or band setting in mission briefing.
-
I am adjusting the Maverick missile TE where you have to hit the AA near the town, then destroy the bridge.
I am starting from the airbase, and I don’t think there is enough fuel with one tank. I have added a KC tanker to refuel around STP 4. I got the times so that the tanker is there before I get there.
But I noticed in the mission briefing, there is no indication that the tanker is there. There is no comm freq. setting (i.e. #13 or #12) nor the band (X or Y). Once I get in the area I am sure I can find it using the radar, but will I be able to call it if the information doesn’t show in the mission briefing page.
If I have to manually enter it (or change it if I want) how do you do that.

I think you need to add a refuel steer point to your flight plan

He means adding a steerpoint for the fighter’s flight plan.

1. Make sure you are in the correct AC seat in the mission schedule, before looking at the briefing.
2. BMS mission schedule briefing does not display the TCN frequency. You can get this by adding an awacs, or using WPD (which i highly recommend).
3. Frequencies and TCN’s are assigned to the AI AC by BMS, they cannot be changed manually within BMS. TCN can be changed only on your own AC from the pit -

But there is no way to know the Tanker TACAN before you enter 3d as it not stored within the cam/trn/tac file. So the Tanker TACAN is only created by the engine once you commit to 3d
Frequencies could be adjust in some kind if you know which file to edit. Freq are assigned from a Matrix by Callsign and could be changed with MC

ok thanks guys….but I am still not sure what you mean.
I have the tanker’s stp 3 marked: Alt 20,300, TAS: 300 kts, Enroute: Fuel, Action: Refuel, with a Patrol Duration of 4 hrs.
(are you saying I need to make another stp so that it fly’s it back and forth?)My stp 4 (which corresponds in the area of the tanker): Alt 20,000, TAS 350 kts, Enroute: Nav, Action Fuel. Duration is 0.
At the start of the mission time is set for 23:00 hrs. My takeoff time is 23:20 so my status is Briefing. The Tanker shows Enroute at this time.
In the mission briefing, my flight shows as boxer with a refuel action at STP 4. But on the tactical line, no callsign, a UHF frequency of 252.250 (no channel), and no VHF frequency or channel.
If I click on the the tanker, It has a callsign as teapot, in the tactical line, no callsign, a UHF channel of 293.450(6), and no VHF frequency or channel.I am also not sure what you mean by WDP.

As I previous stated you tanker need 2 consecutive Waypoint with Enroute: Fuel and Action:Fuel otherwise it will not stay on station and fly a race track between those 2 waypoint.
Best have a look on KTO training missin TR_BMS_05_AAR and look at the 2 AIR REFUEL flightsWDP is a tool for BMS called weapons delivery planner and should be a must have for any BMS user

Ok I have added a second STP for the tanker (stp 4) with the enroute and action set both to fuel. I have also changed the stp 3 with the same.
I still am not getting the tactical informationOk, I have looked at the WDP before. and really dontt understand how to use it. (somewhat confused about it) Also in the website there is a movie section (assuming tutorials) but there is not movies when I click on something.

Does the Tanker TOT. Match so that it’s already on station. If not you might not get it shown in briefing

Yes, I believe so.
My flight arrives at stp 4 at 1:23:50:25
The tanker is at stp 3 (close to my stp 4) at 1:22:08:02 and ahs a patrol duration for 4 hours.I did just add a AWAC, and that does show in my briefing as check-in (channel 5). So I imagine I can request refuel to the nearest tanker and it will give me co-ordinates an frequencies…??

Not intending to bother you two, dear friends Oak and Lorik… but actually you are right both, but just stating your own half of the whole speech.
It takes to be added two refueling wpts. for the tanker, and this is the mandatory part.
Just after having done that, adding a reflueling wpt. for the fighter flight is a very nice touch of class, and may help the AI pilot(s) of the flight to behave much better, if done properly - planning carefully the stationing duration time is my advise about.Just my own cent here, not more or else.
With best regards.

I am still having the same issue…
Here is the mission setup.Mission start at 1:23:00:03
Refueling plane - Texaco 1Stp 1 – Takeoff Sokcho Airbase at 1:21:42:25
Stp 2 – Alt 24,500 – TAS 345, at 1:21:58:04 – Enroute and Action both set to Nav
Stp 3 – Alt 20,300 – TAS 345, at 1:22:14:02 - Enroute and Action both set to Fuel – patrol duration 5:10:00 (first tgt marker for tanker pattern).
Stp 4 – Alt 20,500 – TAS 345, at 2:3:29:11 - Enroute and Action both set to Fuel – patrol duration 5:10:00 (second tgt marker for tanker pattern).
Stp 5 – Alt 0 –TAS 350, at 3:7:56:25 – Land at Sokcho AirbaseMy formation
Stp 1 – Takeoff Sockcho at 1:23:24:50
Stp 2 – Alt 10,800 – TAS 305, at 1:23:29:51 - Enroute and Action both set to Nav
Stp 3 – Alt 6,300 – TAS 305, at 1:23:42:11 - Enroute and Action both set to Nav
Stp 4 – Alt 20,300 – TAS 305, at 1:23:54:29 – Enroute – Nav Action – Refuel
Make contact with Tanker and Boresight mavericksFrom what I see, the tanker is at stp 3 at 1:22:14:02, and I am in close range at my Stp 4 at 1:23:54:29. I also have Awacs in the area, but when I request nearest tanker it says that there is no one available. It seems that the patrol duration time of both Stp 3 and 4 is not being obeyed.
Although I have the Awac call sign and UHF feq and Channel listed in the Briefing page, I don’t see one for the tanker -
It seems that you allow 16 seconds for the tanker between steer 2 and 3? The timings are probably off. I would give him ample time to get up to station, then go airborne myself 10-20 minutes later
-
Ok I have changed the times as follows.
Stp 1 take off at 1:20:42:45
Stp 2 1:20:58:36 - distance to Stp 2 - 3 is 67.8, the speed goes from 300 at stp 2 to 350 at stp 3. if I adjust time or speed the route line goes red.
Stp 3 1:21:10:16 with a patrol duration of 5 hrs. Distance between 3 and 4 is 29.4 at a speed of 345 if I adjust time or speed the route line goes red.
Stp 4 2:2:26:26 with a patrol duration of 5 hrs.So when the tanker gets to sto 3, will it fly between stp 3 and 4 for 5 hours?
Still no call sign and UHF feq and Channel for the tanker on briefing page.
And also, when I check in to AWACs, there is no acknowledgement, when I request nearest tanker. it has replied, Should AWAC acknowledge check in?

Try and look into this mission that hoover made - it works with multiple tankers: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?41982-KTO-4-35-1-AAR-night-training

Check-In has never been working since I used BMS, which is 4.33.
If you want help with your TE, post the files rather than copying lines, you’ll gain time, and we’ll be able to analyze.
When you frag a tanker for a time, the flight plan should be completely functional. I don’t know what else is happening to you, or what you do, that brings problems.

Here is the files. I wasn’t sure which ones you need so I put them all in a zip file.

Thanks Lorik.
I have the tanker running the course based on instruction from your video…great…Just one quick question.
When I click on my plane, and go to the Briefing page, I still don’t see the tanker UHF feq and channel. I only see the AWAC.
If I go to the Tanker, and click on the briefing page, I see the tanker and AWAC UHF feq and channel.Shouldn’t I see both the AWAC and Tanker UHF or UHV feq and channel when I go to the briefing page from my flight?
