Reticle Depression knob use question
-
I’ve been moving mud for YEARS in Falcon and have NEVER once used Reticle Depression.
What am I missing?
Does anyone here find it useful?
I wanna repurpose the axis on my Vipergear ICP to another more useful axis.
What say Ye?

It’s for moving the manual reticle on the backup mode of the primary HUD or the backup HUD. BMS only models the latter. Set HUD to backup mode and see how reticle moves with knob. It’s for manual or backup bombing. In BMS the depression knob doesn’t move smoothly to every mil but in big chunks which makes it less useful.

Thank you. I have never used Backup mode. My CCIP and CCRP has always worked well.

Thats only true, when you uset it with the mouse. When a axis is assigned, you can set it up degree by degree.

Korbi,
Maybe you can direct me how to reduce the degree with which my DEPR RET knob advances the Altimeter knob and the CONT knob advances my HSI Course knob. Currently the knobs advance it to far. I have it configured in the Avionics Axis Setup within the GUI. -

But how do you it to bomb? I don’t think there’s anything on its usage in the manuals

You need a to follow a dive angle, speed and altitude release for a given setting.
You can find them using empirical method. If you do it, please share it. Maybe, if we’ll done we will push them in the manual. -
Someone already did some. Because you can’t set 111, 112, 113, 114 mils in small increments even real life tables are useless. In Falcon the settings are in huge chunks so you have to massage the other parameters to conform to the limited angle options.
