CCRP and CCIP bombs not releasing….Yes the arming switch is on.

Carrying BLU’s and the master arm is on….
I am attacking a runway where the runway is the STP. I see the runway and I am perfectly aligned to fly over the length of it.
I am at 8.000 ft at about 385 and flying along the bomb line. I have the pickle button pushed as the bomb trigger line is falling and the big circle is flashing…
Then the circle disappears and the bombing line continues to fall, but the bombs never drop as I fly over the target.I then go back for a CCIP run
Coming in at 8.000 ft on a dive at about 350. The little circle is over the area where I want the bombs to fall and I press the pickle button…
Nothing falls from the wings. As I write this, I realize that I never target the runway from the FCR. Do I need to do that for CCRP and CCIP. Surely I shouldn’t have to do that for CCIP.

BLUs are designed for low altitude (around 300-500 ft AGL i think) and high speed attacks; it is a big mistake to drop them in other cases.
-
I have some probs with Weaponrelaese on the same way.
1. Blu105 - Masterarm on - created Targetsteerpoint - 550 kn - 400 ft over Ground - NO RELEAS
2. CBU 97 - no Release in CCRP and CCIP
3. GBU 10 - Masterarm on - Laser in Combat mode - Lasertime 20 sec - Laser is armed and tracking Target - no release in CCRP and CCIP. CCRP gives me only azimuth steering,no Loftsolution cue , no level solution cue - in Range cue is scrinking. Release is only possible in manuel.
Using GBU 24 series all works fine. -
I had problems in U1 but not in U2. BLU can be dropped in U2 from higher altitudes. Both CCRP and CCIP are working super. But I’ll do a recheck.
-
yes, I can confirm no problems at all. BLU did require lower altitude in CCIP than MK82.
-
You’re going too slow.
-
Try launching these bombs in manual mode, it’s very interesting and it’s an alternative to all other modules, even more if one of these modules crashes, ok. Hugs.
-
Part of the weapons prep checklists includes ensuring that the Drift C/O switch is in NORM, not in Drift C/O. In some cases, due to wind conditions, the bombs may not release properly if the DCO switch is in C/O.

Might be hung bombs on degraded stations due to over G? Check bottom right status panel for alerts.

Yes - you need to have a target lock if you don’t, in order to actually solve the bombing triangle. The cool thing about Visual bombing (CCIP/CCRP) is that you don’t actually need to lock the target, but you do need to lock something prominent that is at the same elevation as the intended target.
A target (or any attack coordinate) requires a lat/long/elevation set in order to be able to calculate a valid solution from sensor range/mil depression. The CCIP/CCRP Release Cue is showing you the mil depression you need to be at based on your relative position and speed wrt the target, but you can visually “steer” your impact point based on the cross and put your weapons on what you can see in lieu of what you’ve actually locked…provided that the two are near to co-elevation.

You need to lock a target for CCIP to work? Never heard this before!

That’s the only weird thing you read in that post?

LOL… it’s the one thing I saw that made no sense to me as I thought Continuously Computed Impact Point was autonomous… the only time i’ve had bomb failing to release issues is when i’m out of release\drop parameters (or did over-G damage as mentioned earlier).

Yes - for it to be accurate…at least in RL you do. As I mentioned, the system has to include height above target in order to solve the bombing triangle, so you don’t have to lock the target, you just need to lock something at the same elevation. But after that, you can use the symbology to bomb whatever you can see.
A trick I learned back when I was working on RL Harriers - very handy.
-
I tried again with the the target locked in the FCR and nothing dropped in CCRP. (got blown up as I tried a second run in CCIP).
But I also realize that my Release angle is set at 45….If I am flying level will the bombs still release…or should this be set to 0.
Also what parameters should my g factor be and optimal speed? -

I was thinking the same. After the flashing… the carot resets… and starts again to slowly fall toward the release point… my rule of thumb is watch the countdown timer, and at 3 sec… pickle and HOLD. At 0, they should release

Also what parameters should my g factor be and optimal speed?IIRC 45deg release angle in some cases caused problems with bombs not being released in level flight, you might try to lower it to 20deg and try if it helps.

Huh, i have never held the pickle button down from flashing point to release point. Just a sceond or two before release .
Am i missing something.
Never heard about locking in ccip either.
Wow, interesting. -

Wow, interesting.for unguided it’s a must for guided munition it’s not.
