@mrkline
Hi, just installed & tried it out, its pretty great!Im using a TWCS with magnetic detent on the slider, its got a deadband of ‘magnet force’ about 5mm each side of centre of magnet. Used to often pull the throttle back by feel and find 5 minutes later Im still ‘just’ in AB so the sound helps a lot.
If I could make one suggestion for future versions - could the visual overlay be undocked from the corners?
Id probably set it up real small about 1/4 way in, or as a tiny dot kind of in the corner of the HMCS display, if the option was available, to keep it unobtrusive but still visible.My thoughts, the sound and a tiny indicator is OK for immersion, compared with accidentally burning 1/2 my fuel and forcing RTB, so Im pretty happy with it.

I removed the clunky detent from my TM Cougar throttle a long time ago when simming with props. Now back into BMS I missed having some sort of audible feedback for the afterburner. I could reinstall the detent, but the sound always grated on me.
The subtle click in my headphones generated by your application is perfect. Thank you for sharing your file.

@gundam I recently switched to a TM Warthog and had to remove my previously used TM T16k line from “User\Config\DeviceSorting.txt” for BMS-Burner to work, try doing that. You can find the ID list of supported hardware in “User\Config\DeviceDefaults.txt”.

@rusher0600 It works!!
I deleted Cougar and other joystick and works.
really thanks for your help.
Ciao.

Now the sound is missing or better i can’t hear it when go afterburner.
-
Update:
- in 3D i can hear the sound “Click” when from ufterburner going military and below, but not when going from military to afterburner.
-
@gundam the AB>Mil click is much louder than the Mil>AB click by default, are you sure you’re not hearing the latter at all?
As long as you see both “burner-on.ogg” and “burner-off.ogg” files in the BMS-Burner folder, the program should have no issue playing both.
Also check your “bms-burner-log.txt” file, it should have logged both Mil>AB and AB>Mil changes. -
@rusher0600 Hi Rush. Yes i have both file and log say it plays …
Ok i will listen better ! Thanks Rush.
Ciao

BMS 4.36 now has built-in AB detent sounds if you set
g_bAfterburnerDetentClick 1
I don’t plan on supporting this tool any further, though bug fixes are welcome.

@mrkline
I understand your position, but I’m sad to see your utility go to the wayside. I used it for all my flights in 4.35. Thank you for developing it.I loaded 4.36 this past weekend and added set g_bAfterburnerDetentClick 1 in Falcon BMS User.cfg. Admittedly my hearing is not so great across the full spectrum now, but I did not hear any click whatsoever. I tried to revert to your mod, but I see it’s coded for 4.35.
Am I missing something? Does set g_bAfterburnerDetentClick 1 actually work for you?

@greatcouloir I have the exact same problem. I can’t hear any sound either at idle detent or at AB detent. Maybe it is my hearing… Is there a way to increase the volume of the AB detent sound?
Edit: Definitely my hearing! After lowering all other sounds in cockpit (RWR Off, Low speed for wind sound) and max my windows volume above 80%, the click is there! Same click on Idle Detent and on AB Detent. But if there is a way to make it sound louder I would appreciate it. -
@greatcouloir After some searching and testing I found the sound files responsible for Idle detent and AB detent and how to increase their volume. For Idle detent it is 1 file “PushButton.ogg” and for AB Detent sound there are 2 files , one for AB on “PushButton_In.ogg” and one for AB off “PushButton_Out.ogg”. In order to increase the volume edit the file “F4SndTbl.textproto” with a text editor. I increased the max_vol value from -208 to 10000 (I don’t think increasing it further makes any difference). Look at the pic below. Enjoy.
Just in case MAKE A BACKUP FIRST of the F4SndTbl.textproto file. -

@danaos75 can use it to make external nozzel open and close sound?

The index is used with the CallBack,
I’m not sure if it’s possible to create your own
sfx_defs
block with a new sound/index and use that in the key file. It’s strange that the devs went to the trouble of creating a new CallBack and config setting but didn’t create a new sound - maybe this is what we are stuck with (425 sounds), the proto sound file doesn’t seem to suggest so -
@CriticalMass if it work i will share it

Also, try the GearUp/GearDown sounds (index: 119/118) - they have that two step sound like I assumed the Idle/AB detent would have
