BMS Other Fighters Mafia (BMSOFM) Journal

@drtbkj In our wing there are pilots who love the Mirage and the F-18s, I include myself, mainly the Growler.
Our community is very close to its project to keep alive all our alternate aircraft so to speak, since we know that this is a simulator based on the F-16, but even so the community has managed to introduce and keep other aircraft models alive.As we have commented previously, we have all their work implemented in our simulators but we have given ourselves to the task to make it easier to activate and deactivate these improvements, make it compatible with the JSGME and thus it has been easier for our pilots to activate these mods for each aircraft.
Our recommendation and towards this project from our community is that, in an organized way, a section is placed in the cloud where the works of FIGHTER MAFIA are uploaded where the mods are ready to mount with the JSGME and thus be easier for all Other pilots, being able to copy and activate it through the JSGME and not have to do it manually by going folder by folder of the simulator and copying and pasting. In case you want to deactivate the mod of the plane in question, you only have to go to the JSGME and deactivate the one that is necessary.
The explanation given above can be a bit confusing, if necessary we will be more explicit.
JSGME (Jone Soft Generic Mod Enabler is a tiny tool specially made to help gamers seamlessly create a library out of multiple mods and activate them. It’s wrapped in a plain and simple interface that reveals two panes for viewing the available and enabled mods, respectively. )

Hi, Viper, Thanks for the post, and the ideas. May I suggest you go over to our Discord https://discord.gg/kQQT7WgwhH and let’s start the conversation!
The Mafia is happy to work with anyone who enjoys the other jets. Right now we have projects including the F-105, Growler, Hornet, eventually Rhino, others, and perhaps the Tornado. The Mirage certainly sounds like a good one to add.
All,
While I’m here, here’s todays update…
You know, I’ve really come to understand why the Dev’s do our beloved “3-4 Falcon Week” thing. We want to let people know progress is being made. But, it’s really hard to put dates on it! What I can say is that we are moving forward. We have talked before about “building the infrastructure” to do the flight modeling. That’s still ongoing. We’ve discussed GitHub and reorganizing the Mediafile version pf the Mafia Files. Still alive and well. How better to share things. So, Viper’s post here is very timely. We are also looking at Discord, taking it beyond the very basic set up it was started at. We are also looking at doing what Stalker and others are doing for the Viper- Screen sharing and/or Multiplayer sessions for setup, flight, training, and just general fun with BMS’s Other jets.
Unfortunately, this stuff takes time. So, I promise I’ll do better at putting dates on things. But, I *can and do * promise you that we will get there. We just want it done right… -

We just want it done right…We thank you for your service to this wonderful community and to everyone from the shadows who work and invest family time so that our hobby and passion can be more fulfilled. Our wing has been closely following the FIGHTER MAFIA project for some time, including Discord.
Here we have pilots that only fly Mirage and F18, so they are eager for new updates, for now we are exploiting and taking advantage of everything that the Fighter Mafia community has achieved. And all the pilots here know that everything takes time and more what is done with love, so we are happy to wait 3 to 4 weeks.If we can help something it would be great, I think we can package the updates so that they are compatible with the JSGME and make a small tutorial video explaining how to put and remove the mods. So the offer is made.
greetings from the caribbean.

Good Day, All,
We just had a Mafia Meeting, and so here’s an update…- In my signature you’ll now find- https://gitlab.com/musurca/bms-mafia/
With many thanks to Brother Musurca, here is the Gitlab version of the Mafia Files. I’m told you don’t need to make an account with it to get the Files. So, enjoy! Also, Viper, you’ll see it does work with JSGME - As for the Mediafile version, it’s been streamlined a bit. You’ll now find a 4.35 and a 4.34 folder, plus some general housekeeping.
- One of the things we discussed was working with the BMS Theater developers, specifically getting the cockpit files and such into your base installs. If you can’t find what you need in Mediafile or Gitlab, just pm me. We’ll get you the Files you need.
- In my signature you’ll now find- https://gitlab.com/musurca/bms-mafia/

@drtbkj Hooray for Git repo!
Easier downloading … easier change-tracking … clearer docs and folder structures … possibility for pull-requests … hooray!

Hi, Compadres,
Copckit of the CF-188 repaired, position 4 and 5 of the TGP remodeled, and new skins at 4096, ready for take-off …
Problem: In the database, at least in Korea KTO, three sets of skins must be declared, but we only have one slot. The result is that there are two of the games in which the plane appears red or green …
Any ideas how to repair this?

Hi, Fresco,
Nice work. Your problem does give new meaning to the name “Red Baron” ;).
Seriously , though, I have referred your question to the Mafia Brethren, to see if we can help. You’re also welcome to visit our Discord. You can get quicker answers there. -

Good Day, All,
It’s been awhile since I put in an update, and I have some good news…
Brothers Kaos, Ronin, and Eddie have been working hard on the ground performance aspect of the Hornet’s Flight Model( taxing , braking, and landing) on both land and ship. I was just flight testing the new database and I think you’re going to like the changes. I know I do!
At the same time, we’re also working on the sound package, and that’s very nice, too!
We wanted to get into testing, so our “testing skin” is a bit rough. I mentioned to Ronin that I’d love the skin for Christmas Seriously though, we need to get that sorted out . But, we hope to have something in the Mafia Files soon.PS: To Dev’s and Theater Devs: We are approaching this in ways that you can easily include this in your projects
-
A few screens of our ongoing ‘Project Bug’. We (FM, Fighters Mafia) have just finished a good stable ground dynamics model. Audio files (internal and external) have been replaced and are immersive for this new module. We hope you enjoy this aircraft as much as the passion to bring it forward has been!!!
The flight model will be released at a later date, as there has been a lot work for the realization of this to come true. So, upon release enjoy this labor of love, and the accurate FM to go with it, in ‘a few Falcon weeks’ . . .
-
Very cool work! Do keep me posted. When you’re talking about flight model, does that include the FLCS? Or are you tuning the behaviour versus the F16 FLCS?
-
@tumbler31
Yes, the Hornet FM and the FLCS will be adjusted to bring forward ‘real world’ values. Mav-jp had extended out to us that he would assist us in the editing of the ‘hardcode’ for the Hornet, when we are ready. That time is approaching . . . -
Hey Mafia folks, don’t you have any interesting in adding some material to the official BMS?
You know, we have a lot of things that are kinda missing:
- F15 cockpit is porked;
- F18 cockpit could be improved;
- A-10 cockpit could be improved;
- F-5 cockpit does not exist
(those are the main planes in KTO for blue side)
I wonder if you guys would have any interest in that?
-
@seifer
I personally am looking forward to completely refreshing the Hornet’s cockpit. Currently I’m going through and either increasing the resolution and/or improving the 3D presentation of the Bug pit. Eventually, we will be implementing a proportionally correct cockpit and all of the required switches (BMS variables permitting) to enhance the immersion factor of this ‘Other Fighter’!!! -
@tgw hello, this 3D mesh is great ! Is it yours ?
-
Fighter Mafia peeps! If you could provide 2D images of the front dash and all panels for a proper Helios BMS Hornet profile would be awesome.
-
@todd1215
Hey Todd,
Please, PM me for details, maybe I can help . . .

Hi, Seifer,
To both your questions, a resounding yes! Putting the Mafia Stuff into the main BMS install is not really in our control, but we are hopeful for the future. Meanwhile, we try to do “our things” in way that the Membership can do without being computer programmers. Plus, we have talked among ourselves about making installers for those who don’t like to mess with files and such.
Also, we are the BMS Other Fighters Mafia so we’re interested in all the jets. In, fact, we’re working on a couple of others right now. Please don’t take our current focus on the Bug as lack of interest in the other jets. There are two reasons for that focus. First , we feel that after the Viper, the Hornet is what most members want, and thus we can help more people quicker. But the main reason is we continue to , as I’ve come to call it, “build the infrastructure”. We’re learning how to use CFD and such, and it’s easier to do that and to test, when working with one platform. However, what we’re learning in the Hornet will also be used in other jets. For example, I am currently learning to use a utility Brother Musurca gave me to work with cockpit hotspots. My first experiment will be to move the HMD knob from Map Gain to the actual IFEI knob. That is something that is directly transferable to the other jets. -
