Need help in mapping virpil throttle to BMS
-
I have the Virpil CM3 thorttle and I am trying to map the buttons and rotation devices to the BMS key map using the Alternative launcher.
Now I know I need to get the joystick germlin and Vjoy for the buttons that are marked as 33 and higher, But I was just trying to assign the range knob. In the Virpil Tester program the knob will show as 02 and 03 as I rotate upward and downward, Yet after clicking on the Range Knob Assign button in the Alternative launcher it doesn’t registar. (Same for the knob that identifies as 14 and 15 in the Virpil test program - doesn’t register in the alternative launcher).
Dos anyone know how to program these knobs…

You will know if AL recognizes the knob by moving/rotating it. If something shows up in the lower left corner while you do that, it can be mapped. Here I have one of my knobs triggering DX22:
So if nothing shows here it is not recognized, which means you will need to make virtual devices first. I am not sure that VPCs software numbering carries over directly to BMS and thereby Alternative Launcher

I downloaded the Vjoy and joystick gremlin,Now I have to learn how to work with those programs…
Something tells me that Brain Surgery would be easier… -
@jack72 Nah, check out this video:
-
I already saw that…but it is never as easy as it is shown…there is always something hidden that isn’t shown that makes the difference between success and failure… (I should trademark that)

@jack72 RSMapper seems to be an accessible alternative, used by users here as well:

@jayb This video was immensely helpful! Thanks for linking it. Was seriously dreading diving into vjoy and Joystick gremlin, but it was no issue at all.
