DPRK 24th AAA Battalion?
-
Ok looking at the SEAD strikes generated one of them is to strike the 24th AAA battalion, but at the TGT steerpoint it just as an airstrip, no AAA battalion and theres’ no DPRK 24th AAA battalion that exists in the DPRK OOB….is this a glitch? would i need to delete this strike?

Go and fly there and you will see the Battalion wasn’t on the map, because your Recon planes couldn’t find it

So if i flew there i should find it? bit strange that this strike was created to strike a AAA battalion that doesnt exist in the OOB and you say my recon planes couldnt find it? how do we know its there and that it exists? if it exists surely it should show in the OOB.

Yes, Like every Airbase has it’s own Air defense, you know there is one, because of others reports and expectations (Sorry if it’s not spelled like that)

Makes sense, and i noticed in the OOB that theres’ DPRK air defence battalions numbered 1-19 and the next one is the 26th AAA battalion which we do know of and its precise location. I guess the exact location of the air defence/AAA battalions in between the 19th and 26th isnt known, with the 24th being one of them though its believed to be defending Panghyon airstrip- but the strike itself is actually been generated to destroy enemy air defence assets around Sinanju and Panghyon is a few miles north of Sinanju so makes sense.

Strange thing is that after China declared war, Panghyon AB belongs to them where they have a squadron and i noticed in the OOB when i click on the chinese that it has next to air forces, army and so on that it has DPRK, bit odd.

As the saying goes, “The Fog of War”;) Seriously though, I’ve been under the impression that when our dev’s created BMS, based off F4, there were certain quirky things that just came along for the ride.

In the campaign engine, you’ll only ever see two sides at war. Blue forces are team 2, red forces are team 6. China are (for example, can’t remember exactly) yellow, say team 3, and remain separate until they join the war, at which time all their assets are inherited by the read team, so get listed under DPRK. When China join the war, it’s more like DPRK receive a huge reinforcement, and China cease to exist. Hope this makes some sense…

Yep makes sense. Did confuse the hell out of me when i couldnt see that 24th AAA battalion at the start though, i understand why now but still, i’m kind of amazed that our recce patrols found most of the enemy air defences but not some, and you’d think it would say in the briefing that its exact location is unknown which is the case. Surely also the 24th AAA battalion should still be shown in the OOB even though we dont know its’ precise location? apparently HQ know its at or around Panghyon AB but just not its exact position.

If it’s anywhere ask AWACS vector to target and they will tell you exactly where it is;range and azimuth. Often the target is moving towards the front or a specific location like an airbase to defend. JSOW works well here also.

Wouldnt it be JSTARS for ground targets?
