is this system any good?

Performance-wise it should be fine, in general it depends on how much for that.
Also if possible (depends on chipset/BIOS supporting zen3 availability) you could sell CPU and get R5 5600X for little or no extra cost. Which should be noticeably faster in BMS than R7 3800X. -
Yes, that’s a very good system. I have a quite similar setup, but still pushing 1080p max resolution, and have no issues jamming game settings to max in most any game or sim. Should have no problems multitasking such as recording while live streaming a 3D game/sim as well. Will also kick butt at rendering video or 3D models/graphics and/or special effects in something like Adobe After Effects.
I’d agree with Xeno that if there was a specific choice for the CPU, there are other similarly priced chips that may perform better, but if it’s a bundled set and well priced, and you don’t want to pull out chips and replace them, IMHO it’s still a worthy gaming system.

Absolutely system on its own is more than fine. Trading R7 3800X for R5 5600X would be just nice bonus, if one feels comfortable with swapping parts.
I just mentioned it because lots of people got wrong impression that past generation of higher tier Ryzens are better lower-tiered newer ones, which might not always be the case.
It all depends on applications used.BTW may I ask what is the motherboard used in that system?

I don’t own one, just read a very bad report on it with DCS, the person was really mad at the machine for it’s performance. Not sure how well it will do with BMS.

See system from my sig, it was able to run TE 14 (AGM-65 one in inclement weather) at 1920x1200 res with WPN cam and TGP pages on at +60FPS. Lowest number I saw was 54FPS
Performance was bottlenecked by CPU. 3800X in the same system in my estimation would bring at least 20% of extra performance. With much more powerful RTX 2070 it should handle higher resolutions just fine.
So I’d say such system for BMS is more than enough.
