Tacview 1.2 is out!
-
There is a free awacs program by Monster. Since BMS came out it can’t display AI only Human pilots. Now he is On EMF when finished he will update it (I hope so)? .
-
a nice combination would be Tacview and Awacs (Monster)
-
If one of them was open source I believe something like that could be achieved unless Sakis will Rock us hard in the future with his masterpiece…
-
Although, Vyrtuoz work is just enourmous. Thankyou mate.

If somebody has purchased the pro version previously is the proversion available concerning of 1.2 version too?
Yes

@Regulus:
Real time online analysis is a payware feature, supported in professional edition
http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-order-en.phpOk from what i knew it does not support bms only dcs for realtime feed.
-
I was thinking about the possibility to have TacView running a live feed from falcon. I mean if i start running the acmi recording then it should be possible to do the live feed.
Now if this live feed was combined with an option to put a center and a range(scan range) on top of a plane or object then TacView could be used as an awacs station or twr.
Just a thought a man can dream.
CheersYesss!! That would be a great option. Is there any possibility for that feature?

In this case AWACS will be very overmodeled.

I have the home version……is the new software something different? IE, shall I uninstall the old one or is the new one an "upgrade " etc What do I get in the new one that I dont have in the payware home version of the old one? Thanks! Been trying to decide wether to go professional…I always like to support people who produce stuff like this, ( which is why I brought the home version ) and I must admit, I have not looked to deeply into what it can do, but my initial impression was the standard Falcon ACMI viewer gave easier to understand and look at feedback of the dogfight.
Have I got this wrong?
Cheers, Mark

I have the pro version and I think that home version does not show the RDR locks and some other advanced telemetry. RDR locks is a must if you want to debrief BVR engaments.
Regarding BMS ACMI vs TACVIEW:
IMHO I think that TACVIEW is way better, faster and more intuitive to use. You also get very nice Ps energy style charts if you want to analize energy state evolution during a dogfight.
Falcon ACMI is just “clumsy” compared to TACVIEW.
If you like to support this kind of software developers i would definitely recommend to go PRO. I promise I get no comission i just like the program very much
@ARTY: WTH means EMF??

And pro version have export function. For devs, how wish to make better missile of AC FM this is one of the best option.

Many Thanks Vyrtuoz.
Tacview is very useful to us !! -
Hi, I will try and have a good look at features of both later….what I did notice first was that in Falcon ACMI, ( and not in TacView) you can have the turn rate, radius and speed displayed as labels which is very handy to see where you gain and lose advantage. I have not seen how to show the energy charts yet…will delve deeper…
Cheers, Mark

Hi guys, thanks for your support
Here some answers to your questions:
- Your product keys will automatically work with this new version (up to Tacview 1.999)
- This is not a mandatory, but you can uninstall any previous version since this new version is way more powerful
- The home edition will display radar locks and all other advanced telemetry
- Real time analysis has not been developed yet; it will be available mainly for new simulators like DCS which offers pretty good export capabilities. Falcon does not export data in real time (aside the shared memory which contains only the main aircraft cockpit data). The best way to have it with Falcon 4/BMS would be to improve falcon itself to directly export data in real time in a format supported by Tacview.
- The same turn rate & radius data as in Falcon are going to be available in the next release (not enough time to add them in this release)
- For other data like the SPI, I’m going to see what I can do, but if they are not exported in the VHS file I cannot invent them
-
As per rl, it would be extremely useful for the debriefing process to display the radar search cone / coverage area.
Thanks 4 your efforts m8.

……and ECM status…
And also missile status, HOJ, Maddog, etc radar locked, radar cone from missile.

New version is positively AWESOME THANKS!

Is anyone having performance issues with v1.2? Previous versions worked fine on my machine, but v1.2 uses more CPU power and stutters more than BMS does.

I gave the x64 version a try on my i7 just to see the new features and it glitched a bit. I tried the x86 version and that seemed to run fine - just like the previous version. I haven’t used the x64 exe since so can’t say if the glitch was a one off or not. I am unable to use Tacview on my GMA 3150 (OpenGL 1.4) based netbook as it doesn’t support the required OpenGL version (ie it CTD) so can’t say how it fairs on a weak system.

Is v1.2 optimized for 64 bit operating systems? I’m running XP.
