Solved sound effect is really really low

v4.35.3, i drag slider to the far right, use weapon view to follow a falling bomb, but still hard to hear bomb explosion.
fly below 1000 feet, in external view, hard to hear any explosion.
in external view, gear down, bomb release, are really low volume too.
but in cockpit view, the outside noise is really loud.
never encounter this in old version.

@Quasi_Stellar What about explosion? There is no explosion sound on battlefield, a lot of immersion is lost.

BMS sound is calibrated for in cockpit with headset on. There’s only one sound system. You can’t hear explosions in these conditions, so, no surprise actually.

@Gear5 The Falcon sound engine is very old. 4.35 now simulates an always-on pilot’s headset.

-

@Gear5 I don’t remember the details ottomh but I think there are some known-bugs with audio volume, when switching from external view back to internal. So, don’t drive yourself too crazy trying to figure out the optimum balance for both.

after exit from 3d, this “engine external” and “sound effect” botton have no sound at all.
maybe this is an old bug i didn’t notice before. but i remember that when i drop bomb, i heard a very clear sound “kwa”.
now, no sound at all. i dunno if the bomb drop or not, i have to rotate view 120 deg to check the wings, or switch to sms page. this is really inconvenient in an intense war zone.

@Gear5 when weapon comes off the rail, the FPM will flash…

-

@Gear5 the state of the codebase has improved immensely over the past year … but sad to say, I think the official guidance is still to close the program entirely, after exiting 3D. then restart. just still too many memory leaks and corruption bugs :(

Do you hear the car crash behind you, while cruising down the freeway? Immersion wouldn’t be the word I’d use. Especially since several RL pilots in these and other forums, have expressed the lack of hearing things outside the jet. Maybe it’s more of an aural “clue” that you’ve done something right.

I have my sounds tuned to a more “hollywood” experience - move the “External sound in cockpit” slider farther to the right to hear more outside engine noises, missile launches, close explosions and countermeasure dispensing sounds.

@Quasi_Stellar u don’t understand, look at the pic,
in this weapon camera, old version 4.34, i can hear wind sound and explosion clearly. (which is true IRL, right?)
but now 4.35.3, no wind sound, and very very low explosion sound. (of course i do this test in same setting) in some uncertain case, i can’t hear explosion at all.
if i drag sound setting to far right, in cockpit, the outside noise is too loud to bearable.

If you need help about that, ask us.

@LorikEolmin yes? i have asked, what is the answer?
How to increase the external volume without affecting the cockpit volume?
how to get pilot voice back?

-

@Gear5
1) there are some known bugs, with audio volume/mix, after transitioning to/from external - internal views … and many other bugs, when restarting 3D after exiting to 2D. so, for now, just don’t ever do those things.

I know the external-views really do help, to visualize what’s going on, when you’re new and learning new weapons systems. But accept that that the audio mix is never going to be perfect in both.

2) if your head is inside the pressurized cockpit, with helmet and noise-cancelling headphones, traveling at mach 0.5+, you will not hear explosions in any normally recognizable way …

(and your $50M jet should never get close enough to anything exploding, for the question to matter :)

3) on the audio - setup screen, there is a green checkbox for “player voice” … is that not working for you? I’m not sure what could cause that…

@airtex2019 now i know 1 answer:
i have to bring a AI wingman with me, then my avatar talk. this is NOT the case in 4.34

the external sound, i dunno, it is different from 4.34, no matter what setting is. some one made a change on sound code.
