@kyros - Like FEW before you, I bid you farewell.
The most disrespectful and ego-driven character I’ve seen here authored this topic.
My serious questions and bug reports have always been met with courtesy and patience. Strange and mystifying how your experience seems so different.
But I do kind of understand why you should rail against something that has cost you so much to use.
The main thing I’m wondering about is your factual data source to support the notion that the Falcon BMS community is “rapidly shrinking”, if you care to share. How much and over what period of time? Just wondering, because my take is just the opposite.

More bugs than new features? I think you are mistaken with DCS bro.
-
@DISCODAN Exactly, thought I was in a DCS forum there for a minute.
But you can never make everyone happy, I for one have been loving the fresh breath of air that is BMS in general. -
Well I am new to BMS a few months now. I have found the community here replete with many different personalities, thoughts and opinions but generally open and accepting and often encouraging and supportive. I have also found many to be passionate about their work and contributions - which also accompanies strong opinions and feelings. It is difficult for anyone with that passion and commitment to reply with a calm demeanor and even provide encouragement in the face of a derisive emotional assault, but that is what @Seifer has just done. I see no belittling or defensive retaliation. I simply don’t understand how anyone can be so offended by being offered something for free due to expectations not being met. If you really don’t like the sim I guess just return it for a full refund.
As for software development testing, perhaps they’ll just fire the highest paid middle manager for not getting it right. As I see it though, it’s not any worse than my expensive OS each time I install a new version. Honestly though, anyone with any idea at all about what the BMS team has done knows it is quality work, and anyone who can’t/ won’t appreciate that fortunately doesn’t have to.
Thanks BMS team for sharing that passion and all your quality work!

I’m absolutely done with BMS and the disrespectfull and egodriven characters in this forum and especially in the ‘development’ team. With each new release more bugs than new features are introduced. The fact that there have been (and still are) so many serious bugs in the most basic systems makes me wonder how many people fly this game in a realistic fashion. Actually how many fly this game at all in this rapidly shrinking community. There’s a serious lack of proper testing, wrong priorities and lack of documentation. Serious questions and bug reports are met with sarcasm, rude comments or completely ignored. This community is littered with ego and some individuals are really sick. Like many before me, I’m out.
I took the time to run through your “Nightmare bugs” threads and I’m sorry, but you sim to hang on to tiny details and you aren’t getting convinced when a Dev tells you: “But this is how it’s working”. So in that case I don’t have any sympathy to your post - I honestly expected to read that you couldn’t load the sim, getting continuous CTDs all over, or some showstopper - But if what makes you leave is some “issues” (Mostly in your head) with avionics or AI LGBs falling a couple of seconds longer or some trees at runways… then we can’t help you much.
If you call the BMS Devs “sick” then I suggest you to move on to DCS, I’m sure there you will find everything working as you expect ROFLMAO.
Good luck and don’t let the door hits you on the way out…

Dear Mr super ego Kyros
Just remember what free means in combination with time consuming effort, and then, just then complain if you dare
-
@totiselles I don’t really know why we all just answer this post
It has no sense at all -
@SoBad said: The most disrespectful and ego-driven character I’ve seen here authored this topic.
I take GREAT offence at THIS…!
Since the early days of Frugal’s I have worked VERY HARD to be the most ego-driven character on ANY forum.
Whilst Kyros may have been disrespectful, how dare anybody call into question my pathologically overbearing ego.
To teach you all a lesson, I am NOT leaving.

@Aragorn Aragorn has been cultivating disrespect for 20 years and we even love him. Guess one just cant please all of the people all of the time.
-
Um, LOL, where is he to go? DCS? Where they can ban you for stuff you say on other forums? Where missiles and AI have been broken for at least a decade now? Where certain mods (not even devs! haha!) have god-like egos and can ban you if you don’t do a bug report right?
Yeah, how dare you BMS devs for not fixing so many serious bugs! And you do this on your free time? Maybe you should all quit your jobs and so that you have more free time and maybe you can fix more bugs! ROFLMAO!
If I meet any BMS dev IRL, a beer and dinner is on me!
(obligatory “no homo bro!”) -

@dansterAh…Frugal’s World…

@kyros I don’t know if you are Greek but we have a saying in Greece : κάποιου του δίναν έναν γάιδαρο και αυτός τον κοίταζε στα δόντια. It is the Greek version of the English proverb “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” but instead of horse the Greek version has a donkey. The developers spent literally years of their free time to keep the sim running today with tons of improvements on each update. They test as much as possible BUT in the end WE are the final beta testers as well as end users of the sim. I see it as a community project where WE help by locating bugs and reporting them, so they (devs) will prioritize and enter them on the debug queue, so when they will be fixed WE will enjoy a better sim. It is not a game console sim (actually there are no game console Sims) meaning that there are many many many different configurations (CPUs, GPUs, OSs, etc) on each of us ranging from very low end systems to super powerful PC’s, and everybody wants something different fixed or as a future feature according to their personal preference. I can’t say I am sorry to see you leave, I will only be sorry to see @Aragorn leave as he is the salt and pepper of the forum (ok mostly pepper). “Shrinking community” really???

Σωστά!
-
Yes most of your bug reports are valid, thank you for that but
-
all of them are very low priority . Some of them are not even bugs but implementation to be polished . For instance I already looked at the HAD symbology , but fixing AHR HPRF to DL or RWR bugs are more imporyant for now and I worked literally several nights on them already with the help of nice community members (not BMS members), and I think they can testify how intense , tricky and time consuming BMS dev is.
-
that does not mean we won’t fix it , it will just take time and patience
-
the more agressive you are in your posts , the less we will consider even reading you
Typical from a guy that sees only HIS priorities , you remember me some other people that left because couldn’t stand they « their » top priority bugs were not a priority for us
On a side note , saying that each release brings more bugs than before is a huge joke and clearly demonstrate you totally lost the notion of what is an important bug and what is not
Please leave this shitty bms community if you are not happy with us , and good luck in your combat sim adventure with your next community
Bye

@Mav-jp the fact that you have to respond to such topics makes me sad and also angry for all of you … so much involvement though …
I hope the thanks and gratitude from the whole community will always make you want to continue this absolutely wonderful work…
Cheers,
Eric. -

Where I was born/raised (deep south Louisiana), we call this a hissy-fit. Or a brat-attack. Always amusing when grown people do it.

Good keep that, dcs energy out of here. Sorry not sorry but don’t show ass when we are given all this for free on the backs of people we don’t even know
Hope the door don’t hit you on the way out.

Just make it payable and call it early acces.
