Radio Message Colors: Hex Values Order?
-
At the risk of looking stupid :man-facepalming: , I’m asking for help with coding the Comm subtitles.
Per the examples on page 238 of the 4.36 Tech Manual, the order of the hex values is 0xAlpha-Red-Green-Blue, and I confirmed the listed examples online.
But I’m finding for some colors I have to reverse the order, to Blue-Green-Red.
Here’s what I put in Falcon BMS.cfg.
set g_sRadioTowerCol “0xFFd51313”
Here’s what I see in sim:
. . . . which turns out to have the inverse hex value: 1313d5.

Unless there is a code change (I am not aware of that) the order in BMS is always like this:
Alpha-Blue-Green-Red -
@Crassus
The manual reads:A color code consists of four different values, in order: Alpha, Blue, Green and Red -> 0xAABBGGRR
So the order for RGBA is reversed in BMS.
But you’re right about the picture - Cyan should be 0XFFFFFF00

@b0bl00i, thanks for the reply.
I think I get what’s going on: I was reading this,
A color code consists of four different values, in order: Alpha, Blue, Green and Red -> 0xAABBGGRR
to mean the values as they exist outside of BMS, and I was taking
So the order for RGBA is reversed in BMS.
to mean the order we should be coding in.
Cheers!

Ah, I see.
But RGB(A) is the standard outside BMS
