Solved DED bug
-
When the multiple JDAM ripple on multiple targets option is selected in the config editor, the DED display will show ‘JDAM’ next to the 0 on the MISC page even though only HARMs are carried and no JDAMs. Both in NAV and AG mode with HARM as the selected weapon.
-
@kyros Intead of JDAM, according to you, what should be written there ?
-
@spooky I’ll need to se this for myself , but (suspecting) he could be right.
JDAM (2,3 "ripple "case) and HARM are on the same MISC-0-0 ded “path”.
Also WINAMP (BMS entertainment system) is also on MISC-0-0).
HARM should be displayed when AG mode is selected and harm’s are carried AND selected as current weapon , so can radar list could be acessesed via UFC option on WPN MFD.
…
So, what/why… I remember from 4.35 … If you preset JDAM ripple as or 3 case … that would “overwrite” the WINAMP on DED … so winamp ded page would be inaccessible .
Seems that JDAM (ripple 2 or 3) (ded) is hierarchically “stronger” then anything… in this case even HARM. - even if JDAM (bombs) are not even carried. We’ll see for myself , but I feel … he could be right in this.
- of course, that doesn’t happen in NON JDAM (ripplen enabled) planes… Israeli F16 versions have that ripple by default… US don’t
Cheers

Ok… did the test and see. Set Jdam ripple option to 3 in fm , in F18E, since enough hp’s to carry harm and jdams (gbu-38’s).
And, naah, it is just DED mnemonics, cosmetics. it says JDAM but it activates HARM page., when in parameters. (a2g mode, harm selected).
Even more , Set to MISC-0-0 page then change A2G weapon between JDAM / Harm … you’ll see DED pages follows logic.
Small beetle. DED page path just says JDAM., but showing Harm options when Harm selected.
- but winamp ded page still doesn’t work if “jdam ripple > 1”
so maybe move winamp/jdam page somewhere else in ded path,
as if all 3 options “ON” (winamp/harm/jdam ripple) - all 3 are on MISC-0-0… there will be fighting
- but winamp ded page still doesn’t work if “jdam ripple > 1”
-
Huh ? are e talking about the F-16 or other jets ?
-
- of course, that doesn’t happen in NON JDAM (ripplen enabled) planes… Israeli F16 versions have that ripple by default… US don’t
some F16’s included
- also solved “winamp problem” when overriden with JDAM - just switch to AA mode, then JDAM is gone, as JDAM is present in NAV/AG
… Homer = DO’H !!!
