4.36 AI behaviour problems (air & ground)
-
(Also posted in other topic where it might be applicable)
Perhaps related to this, I’ve noted consistently in SEAD missions the following behaviour of AI wingmen:- Order wingman to ‘attack my target’ (SAM radar which he does succesfully)
- Rejoin (succesfully)
- Order wingman to ‘attack my target’ (different SAM radar, he confirmes but does nothing, just stays on my wing)
- Order wingman again to ‘attack my target’ (now he does attack succesfully)
It seems after a first attack and rejoin it is always neccessary to give the ‘attack my target’ twice. Note, this has nothing to do with radar emitting or not, it always happens. Difference can be observed by wingman staying on wing instead of heading for (non-radiating) emitter.

(KTO campaign)
1st problem -
#2 is loaded with gbu-39’s, the first “attack my target” order goes great, he release 1 bomb and destroy the vehicle.
Then i choose another target, order it to attack it, get his call back as confirmed and he just wondered on the space and away from me, with no attention on attacking the vehicle.
After 10min i ordered him again to attack & same result.2nd problem -
The unit i am attacking is an SA-11, using my GBU-39 i managed to destroy the Snow Drift radar & 4-5 SA-11 launchers (tgp picture and visual shows the vehicle in flames). When i look at the unit again, after 15-20min, the unit is full as it was resupply immediately.
Next mission i do the unit attack again and after a while it is again back to full vehicles.
(The unit is not HQ controlled).Anyone has a suggestion to solve those problems ?
yes…wait for Update1 for #1

Hi
Another question about AI Wingmen
What is the reason of launch by AI standoff weapon from less than half maximum range?
Its very strange especially when im trying to order AI wingmen to attack area targets (via Attack targets command) with JASSM, Storm Shadow or JSOW.
Is it a bug or it was intentional? -
Another testing day and another problem
Dunno why but any 4 ship AI package can hit only one static target (first from the list) even if all planes have separately assigned targets. Ive tested it at Radar Stations, Airfields.
When im a commander of 4 ship flight results are better. It happend on every installed theater (6 or 7 of them) -
@pgk007 i have noticed this too, even in 3.6u1.
-
@pgk007 In my opinion, this 2D behavior encourages players to do more air strikes on their own than to sit in air bases and wait for the HQ to eliminate most of the threats.

@Foxtrot701
Problem is it was on 3D
Usualy im flying as SEAD
But second package commanded by AI was tasked to destroy Radar Station covered by SAM. My package completely destroyed SAMS but i debrief i foun AI package had 100% missed targets -
@pgk007 AI sometimes stumbles out of the blue in 3D, but not regularly, maybe it depends on the ordnance being carried or on converging stars… In 2D 1 or 2 destroyed targets are typical since 4.36 regardless of which targets are assigned for the strike flight

@Foxtrot701
Well
Ive tested LGBs, GBS bombs and Cruise Missiles and ARMs.
Best result was on SEAD mission but OCA strike is always horrible for AI flight
