Short Runways In Mideast128 Theatre
-
Hello forum, please am I the only one that noticed the runways are short and when aerobraking is applied, the plane is going to over run the runway when the nosewheel touches the ground. Thank you.

@Sniper-0 are you referring to runways or strips? block 50s with load need a good length of runway but to address your question I’ve never seen the regular runaways to be short.
-
@Alfred Runways Sir…
-
@Sniper-0 and please can you help me out, still learning… Am playing desert storm, carrying two 600gal tanks and a centerline tank, but the fuel is not enough to bring me back to base… and all tankers are farther away from my location. Thank you. I’ll be glad to hear from you

Yes there is something called a tanker
-
@Sniper-0 It is bit oldschool runway. Keep your speed at 170knts and point to the marker on runway. Press “K” after touchdown (wheelbrake)
-
@MaxWaldorf I know, their distances are usually about 180-200 Miles away at any given time. I need your suggestion if you don’t mind. Thank you

As variant. Choose a different squadron to start, closer to the front, for example, the 614th. Doha. Qatar. There is also a long runway.

Good morning, Gentlemen.
And yes, that by Goro might be an useful suggestion indeed.
But - as in real life, though - in wide areas sceneries air refueling is more than an option, but a necessity instead.
And this theater is just faithful to this strategical premit, as it was in real Desert Storm I campaign.
So I like it as it currently is - and with Falcon only you can have the chance to feel how “the real thing” really is, and I am stating that after deep and long tests with any other “simulators” (bah).With best compliments to Goro - who is still deeply involved to this beauty - and all the fellows who made Falcon so nice and refined step after step also about this realistic feature given to us with.

@SpbGoro Thank You Very Much

sorry for the late reply. You can always dispatch tankers to fly in areas close to where you can aerial refuel per need but that might put the tanker within danger of being shot. If you still insist on flying from that base then you might want to land on your way back on one of the runways available within friendly territories. These will not be visible on the 2D map but they are there (e.g. ras alsafania or ras mishab). Once you land you can refuel and then fly again.
-
@Alfred How come friendly airbases are not visible in 2D, do you know ?
-
because there are no squadrons placed there. But if you do (mission planner) then you will see them.
-
@Alfred Makes sense

True that.
By the way, if I were you, I would not put a strategical asset (AWACS, reconnaissance and BDA planes and drones) at risk to be shot down and consequently becoming easy enemies’ prey in any case. It’s not a good tactical practice to lack a bit of common sense, you know.With best regards.
