AGM65D without TGP?
-
Hi all
I just flew my first mission in the Balkans for BMS 4.36.1.
It was a strike mission with two AGM65D’s and what I thought was a TGP as well.
When I was airborne I powered up the Mav’s and tried to turn on the TGP only be see a No Power message on the MFD.
I checked externally and saw a pod on the left chin hardpoint and it looked like a TGP but since I couldn’t get it to power up I am assuming it was another type of pod?
I didn’t check the loadout screen to see what pod was loaded. I was able to destroy my targets in VIS mode for the Mav’s.
Is this lack of a TGP because of the campaign I am playing , Balance of Power?
Thanks

@CaptCanada you need to check if you turn on the pod (on the upper/right console of aircraft).
If you have turned on the chin station (in other words, turn on the station where the pod is) you need to wait till the pod itself warm up before you can use it.

Turn ON the Sensor Panel ( From left to right… Lft and Rgt “chin” station, Fire Control Radar and Radar Altimeter)

This is only an EXEMPLE of the messege that will appear to you in your TGP page when you turn it on (after you turn on your “chin” stations like i said above).
You need to give some time for the TGP to warm up before you use.

Thanks everyone.
I chose Taxi for my start , so all the avionics were powered up. I checked the sensor power switches to make sure they both were on, which they were.
Not sure why the TGP didn’t power up though. Would the Mav’s have been loaded with some other type of pod?
I got shot down in the first try and should have discarded the mission and tried it again, this time checking the loadout screen to see what pod was loaded.
Oh well, next time I do a strike mission with AGM’s, I’ll double check the loadout screen and see what pod is loaded.
Thanks

@CaptCanada left chin was probably an HTS pod for HARMs. Was it grey with a white nose?

@Quasi_Stellar No, as I recall it was all black and fairly small.
