Return to base?
-
So in AF we had a return to base command executed from the 2d map.
No biggy but could this be implemented…
Reason i ask?
Just seen a flight of 4 b52H head straight into an sa10 that had spawned in as reinforcement.
Bam all four blown to hell lol.

@roy35150 So basically an Abort command, issued from the 2D map. That could be useful

Abort mission from high command due to unseen dangers…
Am sure they would abort certain missions due to unknown threats appearing.

Certainly. That would definitely add to the RTS aspect of the game, allowing to have entities under HQ control but able to shut down some of the worst planning mistakes without actually taking over fully, which is a whole other magnitude of work.

But - isn’t abort currently being made illegal in many US states…?

Let’s see what happens in the state of BMS

I’ve always seen the Abort button in the package menu and on right click on the flight… (or package)

@LorikEolmin As far as I can tell, no such option neither in the ATO nor by right-clicking the flight symbol in the 2D UI:
“Delete” does not abort if the flight is airborne

Right! In case someone is wondering: Use the ATO to find the package, right-click the line with the package number and select Show Flights. That will give a dialog with the option to Abort.
It seems that it works regardless of “Set by HQ” status

@jayb nice and useful, maybe it can be dragged out to the right click menu?
-
-
@dumba that would be a great improvement. Let’s hope that the devs pick that up at some point

@roy35150 This one is almost in the manual, it turns out. After Lorik’s cryptic hint I still couldn’t find it in the UI, but turns out the manual has info on the procedure.

Thx for the info…
