Can I play BMS with a tenkeyless keyboard??? what am I missing?
can someone upload a kayboard configuration for tenkeyless kayboards???
they are very common nowadays and not at all are so maybe we should consider add support for tenkeyless keyboards in falcon… -
Or you could make a keyfile for your keyboard and share it for everyone ?
Great way to learn how keyfiles work, and with the keyfile editor or alternative launcher, it’s easier than ever -
@alu332 if you look at the full keyboard layout you can see what is mapped to those numeric keys. You would have to use something else for those functions. One thing that comes to mind is the ICP
-
if you have a spare tablet lying around (or even a phone), there are a few applications out there that’ll allow to you run the ICP / DED (and even more) on a tablet.

The NUMPAD…
-
ofcourse I know I’m missing the num pad BUT I don’t have the time neither the expertise (I’m quite newbie at BMS) to create myself the tenkeyless keyboard configuration i need…
So I hope in the help of others… -
AND also I believe that such a config should be official BMS and included with the game distribution and not going around in the forums as a fix…

Honestly, been flying Falcon for a decade on and off, never used the keyboard for anything really… maybe smoke or “show FPS”, or the alternate views 1-9+0 for screenshots or video. All operations otherwise can be done with HOTAS, clicking on switches in the cockpit, or (for example) voice controls for radio menus, etc.
Here’s what the numpad is used for in the FULL keyboard layout:
(find this and other keyboard layouts at “…\Falcon BMS 4.36\Docs\01 Input Devices\01 Keyboard Layouts”) -
thank you all , for your kind replies and thank you SemplerPDX for the layout picture. I didn’t knew this existed (i said quite newbie…) . It really seems that i can live without the numpad
as long as i use my mouse!!! Thank you! -
@alu332 if it becomes too troublesome you can always buy a
numeric keypadICP panel for your home cockpit for ~$20.
