Quick question about WoW (weight on wheels)
-
Is the WoW sensor on the main gear, or nose wheel? or some combination.
Seems like most functions (like radar) are tied to nose-wheel.
But I noticed, when landing, if I had hit uncage to declutter the HUD… it reverts as soon as main gear touch down.
Even more strangely, I just noticed – if I press uncage while aerobraking, the HUD declutters again. Until nose-wheel touches down, then it reverts again.
Is this expected?

@airtex2019 WoW generally referres to the main wheels. The F-16 has also a sensor on the nose gear which also sets the speedbrake limit.

I think there is a bug with the HUD declutter and the DED re-appearing before it should on touchdown, no matter how smooth you are.
Use the Avionics Config editor and set the “Hud Lag” option ON for the jet you are flying. It is off by default on a bunch of jets where it should be on. These defaults will be fixed in a later update. See if that fixes the declutter…it shouldn’t be related to this, but I think it may be a bug. Need to check the code.
FYI, the HUD Lag option basically smoothens out the airspeed and alt tapes so they don’t jiggle as much with the heading tape and FPM during landing and aero braking. All of the newer software jets have this (MLU and CCIP jets).
