TM Warthog Throttle Switch Problems…
-
I would say if they are working consistently in DCS it’s not the hardware… what do you mean by “periodically”? Do you start everything and fly for a bit and then they stop working, or sometimes they just don’t work from the start? What “fixes” it, a restart of BMS?
YES! I can get them to work from the Setup > Controllers screen and they will check good once I’m in the 'pit, but soon after, either at take off or once airborne, they stop responding to inputs. But at times they will start working again and all is normal.
And yes, I don’t feel its the hardware either since they do work in DCS and why I posted my key file just to see if anyone can see something in there that’s not obvious to me.
EDIT: I should note, specifically to you Icer, I do fly with both your F-16 & Wheelchock’s F-18 Helios profiles, so the key file is a modified version to use specifically with Helios. Come to think of it…I don’t know if I’ve tried using that key file without Helios.

Those are -Ice’s- profiles, I have nothing to do with their creation… You might also check your all of your USB Hubs Properties in Device Manager (Universal Serial Bus controllers and Human Interface Devices) and un-tik the box for “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” in the Power Management tab.

My apologies for the confusion Icer.
And, thanks! I’ll look through my Device Manager and see about turning off the “…save power” option.

I’m sometimes having similar issues with my warthog hotas, but sadly so far I’ve found it’s not reproducible in a reliable manner. I’m beginning to suspect though that having run rfactor2 or any other application using the dx devices before launching BMS might have to do with it. For me the symptoms are like this:
o NWS cannot be toggled using the switch on the stick (it still works for AAR disco after opening the fuel door using the clickable cockpit switch on the left console though!)
o gear won’t retract using the button assigned on the tqs (the grey one to the right of the throttle handle base) The visible gear lever in the cockpit still toggles when I press the button though
o Also, the keyboard shortcuts assigned to the functions (bms full) have no effect either for the systems listed above.
All in all it’s a very weird situation that can usually be fixed by rebooting, but for now I’m at a loss what might be causing this issue.
All the best,
Uwe

Thanks for your feedback Uwe. I too can fix the situation by re-booting, but this honestly shouldn’t be happening. Please continue to post here if you experience any other anomalies or come across any fixes. I will be checking back periodically.
Cheers,
JollyEDIT: I just noticed you have an AMD CPU as well Uwe. Same here… just a coincidence?? Or not?? :suspicious:

Hm, the problem appears seldom enough for me to not worry about it too much, since BMS 4.35 was released it has happened maybe twice or so. I also use some switches on the TQS within rf2 (pit speed limiter and others, also some buttons on the G25 shifter I kept when upgrading to the T500RS wheel a few years ago) and those have never let me down, it’s an issue I’ve seen exclusively in BMS so far.
I tested running rf2 yesterday and then lauching BMS “straight to taxiway” after quitting rf2 without a reboot and everything worked fine, so if that’s the issue it’s not 100% reproducible I’m afraid.
All the best,
Uwe

SOLVED! I must regretfully say that this issue was most likely caused by a bad PCB board. I recently turned on my machine and began my usual setup before entering that game and discovered that Windows no longer recognizes my throttle! I have attempted to reinstall its firmware 3 times with no luck. The throttle is…no more.
Thanks to all who chimed in on this topic.
Cheers,

@JollyFE I’m sure that you confirmed this by testing it on another PC
-
@Fish44 Yep, I tried 3 different machines (2 Win 10 & 1 Win 7) and the throttle does not show up on any of them.
