Are you looking for F14 Tomcat cockpit in BMS?
-
-
@GhostDog-0 No
-
@Obi1 OOOO that hurts I know about some thirsty pilots looking for Tomcat including me. I was so happy for this cokpit.
-
Yes !! where can we find it?
-
@giannis_plt You guys are probably new here? But i think that pit was banned long time ago. Sorry to piss on the parade but thats what i remembered.
Cheers Obi1

Copied without permissions from FSX i believe
-
@vAiCon I saw some videos from 4.32 where was a different cockpit. Im pretty sure it is the one which has been banned.
-
@GhostDog-0 Im so thirsty. Ive been trying to figure out how to export this point to other 4.36 theaters but I can seem to get it.
-
@Cpt_Communist buddy, just download Mideast128 and - there is Mr.Tomcat even with some skin and half clickable cockpit. I was mad when i found it
-
@GhostDog-0 Yeah I am trying to import it from MIDEAST to the other 4.36 campaigns. I just donāt know how to get it right (cockpit disappears leaving just the HUD) and I am quite sure it is something easy to do which I am just overlooking. Maybe I have the CT or parent wrong. I can technically survive on the hornet pit outside of the ME128, but its a quality of life issue for us Tomcat fans, who have long suffered discrimination at the hands of an uncaring board, and hapless (now banned) crediteers. It is a Tomcat desert, and we have long been cast aside, left only to pick over the bones of past models unearthed from versions pastā¦
I did not choose Tomcat life, it chose meā¦ you see
-
@GhostDog-0 it is such a long story. At one point there were no less than 3 maybe four models āweeks away from releaseā. Turns out one of the dude with the leading model was just ripping it off from somewhere else. Thereās more to the story but if you wade into the forums that mention the F-14 pit, that is the general problem. At one point there was YEARS of development discussion which ended very abruptly because of it. A full f-14 model has been discussed for no less than a decade each time ending in disappointment. But the fact is it doesnāt matter how good the model is in something like DCS, because it completely lacks what BMS offers - dynamic game-play and flawlessly smooth flight movement. To me the zenith of BMS achievement will be the day a fully operation Tomcat hits the street. At any rate the SuperTomcat by OFM guys is quite good, all that is missing is a full hi-fi cockpitā¦ someday we might get one.
-
@Cpt_Communist Yep, i heard about this, but there is one ābutā Cockpit which we are talking about has been taken from FSX . BUT when you compare FSX and BMS Mideast128 ā¦they are totaly different. So, i still dont understand, why we have full cockpit in Mideast and its not available in other partsā¦ and just let me ask you, did you modified something?
-
@GhostDog-0 No I have just tried two methods
- Copying and overwriting the ckpit art, .dat and .afm from the F-14IRAF in other theaters.
- Trying to export the same model using the export function on mission commander.
- I started to mess with the F4 and LOD interfaces but I need to read a bit more before I get into that. I know what I need to do is update the DB on the other theaters to include the model from ME 128 or alternatively alter the ME 128 files to recognize the parent and FM in other theaters, in the case of the first instance, I have not seen exactly how to used the DB builder tool to do so.
Unfortunately for some reason you canāt just move the cockpit art. Ive read through the file and model data, the one in ME 128 is unique and points to wing and parent models I probably need to find or alter in each theater then modify the file itself to cut and paste in other theaters. but thatās about as a far as I have gotten.
If you notice the wing model from the pilots view is different from all the other wing models in other theaters too. So Ideally you would want to move the cockpit art to replace the default hornet pit in the other theaters, by having it point to the wingmodel etc in the other theater. It sounds simple, and it probably is but so far I havenāt figured it out.
