problem with ACMI
-
the extension .vhs is never generated. I looked up the folder and all the files were zip.acmi ? Whats going on and why the files are not converted to . vhs ? is there something I need to do in addition to recording, I never saw any TAPE0000.vhs. I rewrote the extension to ,vhs but all that did was to make the file visible in replay. And, no .flt file either!

@Alfred .zip.acmi works for me … what are you trying to do? need newer version of TacView?
oh, are you trying to replay within the BMS UI? I think that will no longer work…

Ok I see, so the old way of selecting the file then clicking does not work? There are four files there already but the one results from recording during flight never shows up. How do you replay once you record? could you help please, sounds like something I need to download.

@Alfred TacView https://www.tacview.net/product/en/
Think of it as the “Alternative Launcher” for replaying ACMI files.
It knows how to play both .vhs and .zip.acmi formats.

@airtex2019 Thank you very much , I am downloading it now.

set g_bACMIRecordMsgOff 0 // Display red banner msg when recording set g_sAcmiDirectory "" // Default: \Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Acmi

@Alfred half the fun of Falcon is in replaying the acmi… nothing humbles you after a successful CAS sortie like seeing a SA-14 miss you by 100 ft, that you never even knew about

@airtex2019 is there a way of making the terrain look better? it’s very smooth now

You learn from when things go wrong but it’s also so satisfying when things go right and you watch the ACMI and you realise you were this close!! to not making it back

is there any cinematic replay? tactical is informative but the older way was nice you could see replay as in real game although was very slow with bad graphics.

So you can’t play an ACME back in BMS? You need the Alternative Launcher for that?
That would explain why BMS crashed when I tried to play on of the sample files…

free version is sufficient
I think BMS devs said they plan to cut the in-app acmi playback experience… it’s just so far behind TacView, and supporting both is too constraining

@airtex2019 Thanks!
