The simplest things...

I’d like to setup a TE that has a long flight (~300 miles) where i can just practice refueling. I want to have the tanker take off at 7:00 and my F16 2 ship 10 minutes later and meet up for a long straight-line refueling session.
This seems incredibly easy to plan in real life and in DCS, but so F-ing complicated in BMS. Can anyone give me some hints as to getting this setup. My times keep altering, and th tanker jumps about 5 hours in the future after a steerpoint.

Okay, this took me 85 seconds to create. Try to be that fast in Real life or DCS. Easy job

Remember, tanker tracks should be 50 miles long. 300miles track length will not work.
Enjoy

@jcook Why? What’s wrong with the AAR TEs?

He’s trying a long straight-line session. Falcon bms.cfg contains a line for that. Is it obsolete?

You need no more than 2 min to plan an AAR in BMS. And if you like to plan a “Golf” rendez-vous for “en-route” AAR, just take a look in manual, it is explained.
Don’t take DCS as an exemple, it is almost impossible to sync a simple COMAO on a push.
AIs are inefficient in almost all tasks and are unable to manage a timing properly, so if it is easier to plan an AAR, it serves no point if AI are unable to correctly perform the mission after the AAR … and it is not easier actually. You are just doing something wrong. -

Of interest for @Micro_440th .

Yes, learn how to use the BMS in game flight planning tool. It will be time well spent if you intend to stick with BMS. It’s much better than DCS, (can’t comment on RL). At its core it works from a TOT (time on target), and everything gets planned around that.
