Voice Attack

I have just dug out my Falcon 4 from the dust bin and installed BMS and quickly realizing my old saitek lost some of its functionality in vista vs xp unless i cave in and buy a newer saitek with drivers specifically for vista/win7……
Soooo im going to use another program i have had good success with in Star Trek Online. Its called voice attack… its free if you only want to create one profile and dont mind limited amount of commands…but i have the full version which is only $8 and gives you unlimited profiles and commands… I have a video posted below that i made to demonstrate. It works quite well once youve trained the windows recognition software. And if you have problematic phrases or words after you have trained it you can manually record that particular phrase or word to train it even more…
Voice Attack: http://www.voiceattack.com/
my demonstration:
think i will start with programming tower commands and wingman etc etc… -
Well i just spent several hours setting up some basic commands and got everything in voice attack to recognise perfect but when in game it just wont work the keystrokes/keyboard commands… i know the voice attack software is working as i have it programmed to play a mic clic when it recognises and performs a programmed command…
So not sure why or what the deal is but it worked perfect in my other games but not in falcon so far… Im stumped and would appreciate any input.

Voice attack works great for me in BMS. I selected the “directx” option when programming functions as well as the “quick” option. Maybe this your issue.

Canuk,
Do you have a Voice Attack profile that you could post for the community to download? I would really appreciate it as I use voice attack as well. Great program!

I have created a profile for Voice Attack that includes all 163 radio calls. You can download it by registering for the 1st VFW Forums and downloading it from the “Public Downloads” page. http://firstfighterwing.com/VFW/register.php
Please read the “Readme.txt” attached. You require a regitered copy of the Voice Attack in order to import the profile, (it’s only $8 bucks). Feel free to adjust timings of key strokes to your liking as well as the “voice commands”.
Enjoy

I’m also a very happy VAC user (bought it last week or so) after finding out how to add english phrases to the german dictionary. Also it’s very easy to set the listening command to a pinky-shifted button on my cougar (I chose pinky->iff out for this) so no re-mapping was necessary. Great stuff and a steal at $8 or so for a full license. Thanks to jocsib for the recommendation.

I think you import it, rather than dump the file somewhere.
Click Edit Profile, then bottom left of the editor window has an “Import Commands” button.

I notice in settings some radio commands have direct links, but some appear only to be available through the menu. For example, tower QNH.
Is it possible to request QNH without having the menu popup?
-
AFAIK BMS has no way to suppress the AI communication menu display. Maybe some future feature.
-
you can resize the menu to be very very small - search on the BMS forum - cant recall the exact post that shows you how to do it
-
Thanks Mal., but I’m trying to install the Voice Attack Profile into the Falcon 4 BMS 4.33 folder?

Why are you trying to do this?
You can install VA anywhere you just need to point it at BMS or - as I do “Send Commands to Active Window”
-
Okay Ironman53rd, thanks for the info.
Aloha & God Bless
-
one other point you can only “import” if you paid for the full version of VA - if its the free version you cant
-
I think you can import stuff on the free version, just as long as it conforms to the number of commands you can program on the free version? Anyway, the discussion is moot… the free version isn’t meant to be used, it’s just a demo to show what VA can do. IMHO, these programs are worth their asking price…
-
I agree - it is very good value for money ;0)
-
Import and export are disabled on the demo, but for a tenner it’s money well spent.
