HOTAS throttle doesn't move in cockpit
-
Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and in using HOTAS as well.
I am currently having issues with my throttle - it registers fine when I test it in the game’s control section - I can see the green bar move up and down. But once I begin the training mission only the buttons on the throttle pad function, the throttle itself doesn’t register when I’m sliding it up/down. I have to use the mouse to do it, does anyone know why?
My HOTAS is x56 Rhino, and I have the latest BMS vers. installed.
Any help would be appreciated

@Gemred22 are you doing a ramp start? Have you tried with the jet already running.
-
Are you moving it out of the off position when you start up?
-
@cougar56th yes I’m doing a ramp start like it says in the manual. I haven’t tried anything else yet.

@Gemred22 you need to move it out of cutoff. There is a hotspot on the throttle you have to click to get it out of cutoff. Also try using Alt-I

@Gemred22 if you are talking about the first training mission that you start with a cold jet then the throttle is locked at idle detent. You have to click on the little lever on the left of the throttle on the 3D cockpit to move it past idle detent and test if it is working . But before you start the ramp procedure make sure to lock it back with idle detent and follow the proper steps. Try you throttle on the instant action and see if it works there. If it does then all is okay.

@JUmpstart5179 I have tried all the way down, and not all the way down if I understand you correctly, but it doesn’t work.

@Gemred22 look down at it while you hit [alt+I], you should see it move in/out of the cutoff position, aka “idle-detent” position…
it’s this command callback, in case you’ve remapped it. in theory there’s something you can click on in the 3d cockpit, but I have no idea precisely where… always used a keyboard binding for this.

Thanks, I just tried to use the throttle in “taxi” and they work, so clearly I’m doing something wrong when on the ramp. I read up on the Alt+I but I just thought it could be done with the throttle pad. I’ll look into it - thanks
I’ll probably have more silly questions along the way, thank you for being helpful.

@Gemred22 there is a little finger hook lever on the far left of the throttle in the sim, click on this to take the throttle out of the fuel cutoff gate. Read the training guide to see when to do this during the startup process. Pay attention to it or you’ll set your jet on fire.

@SOBO-87 haha I don’t want that. I got it to work, thanks!
