Solved HARM POS : threat position steerpoint changes
-
Hello,
Praticing onto the brand new EW/SEAD mission, I was surprised to “discover” that the actual steerpoint used as threat position during the hand off changed when I switched from one navigation steerpoint to another.
Maybe I have mistaken something important for the handoff procedure. But I was expecting that the selected threat position (the steerpoint) choosen during this handoff procedure would remain the same once and for all even if the active steerpoint changes. As per described in the Dash34, page 266 :
“The active steer point will be assigned to the selected HARM after the handoff is complete. After the hand off, the pilot may change the steer point via the UFC. The missile will keep the first handed off steer point in memory. That way several program several HARMS can be pre-programmed with different steer points and continue navigation”.
Since I am not sure about what I am doing wrong, I can not qualify this beahavior as a bug : I don not want the devs to waste their precious time on an irrelevant problem.
I’d be very grateful if someone could help me on this one.
Thanks in advance,
Hawk -

To include in manual bug fixing?
Already fixed in U1
-
The behavior is correct
The manual needs update
-
So handoff behavior has been intentionally reverted as it was before?

Can’t the manuals be updated and posted to the Manuals section of this site when corrected to correlate with procedures?

No that wouldnt be ideal to have non coherent versions online and in the installer.
Maybe we will move to wiki and away from the PDFs in the future, so those issues can be solved more quickly. -

I think PDF are still valid, but perhaps only available online and not bundled with the release.

@CriticalMass really? I would rather expect the opposite. ie. wiki/markdown online… and a tool to generate a “snapshot” of the docs in pdf form, to bundle with releases.

Sure, sounds like a fully fledge CMS which I’m all for. When you say wiki, do you mean user-generated?
Anyway, bit off OP.

@CriticalMass You mean a wiki which is editable for users? Hell no
