COM 1/2 preset change not saved on DED
-
UHF/VHF preset changes on the COM 1/2 DED pages are not saved on the DED default page (which shows when dobber left is used).
So for example I press the COM 1 button, then move dobber down to the preset number and change this number with the up/down arrow on the ICP and confirm the new preset with ENTR, the DED goes back to the default screen but still shows the old UHF/VHF preset. I then have to dobber to the preset on the DED default page and select the new preset again.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a reason why presets selected on COM 1/2 pages are not saved?
EDIT: I believe I found my issue. Instead of using up/down on the COM page to select a preset I have to enter the preset number (e.g. 3) in the empty field on the right of the COM page and press ENTR.

@Munster
As far as I understand it, it has to be handled the other way round.
I see, you have an active frequency and you want to “quick-bind” it to a preset number (like you do with your mobile phone). I don’t think it will work that way.It should work if you:
- dobber down to the preset number
- chose the preset number you want to use
- then type in the frequency you want to link with the preset
I do not know if it’s possible to make an active frequency a quick-preset.
But at least there is a workaround for everything. -
The preset channel value and frequency value on lines 4 and 5 of the COM1 override page are for changing what frequency a particular channel is, not what channel/frequency is currently tuned.
E.g. The COM1 radio is tuned to channel 6 (line 2) and I’m editing what channel 20 (line 4) is to 302 MHz (line 5).

@Frederf Thank you, this clarifies things for me. Instead of changing the actively used preset, I changed the “speed dial” preset number under which a frequency is stored. Appreciate the replies.
