Unsolved Question about landing on Airport in the night - no light on from the base
-
@luke777 Hi Luke777. The point is: are these test executed by me and Viper useful for the developers or they already know the issue reason? If yes i am agree it could be a waste of time. If not maybe no

@gundam Viper, All
Anyway just to share that i put the server without norender and iconized it.
Connected with client and no airport light appears. As Viper report anticipate to me.
We are at the starting point i think

GUN did you put the server at night and the plane server 5 min before takeoff so that it enters with the engines on? did you do the test i told you above. always remember to call by radio requesting a taxi.
-
@VIPER-0 i did not call for the taxy…i need to do the test again.
Thanks Viper. I will try and post here the results.
Gundam
-
@gundam Yes, Please report the results here! I am wondering if it is that the server aircraft remains “dark” and never contacts ATC, thus there is no triggering lights-on.
-
@JollyFE Hi JollyFe, in my case i tried but it is very diffucult to ask for taxy because server doesn’t have a video card so without norender is all too slow…and in hang state. Anyway i see with my PC that if the server flight goes in taxy the airport lights goes on even without the call to taxy. So in my opinion is the same.
Very hard to understand which is the reason…i would like to know behind airport light on which is the code/module that trigger it so i coukd make specific test

@gundam can you put the server on a remote airport?
-
if you don’t have host with rendering don’t loose your time to test or report
First question that I asked for years
Do the host see the lights « on » when all client see « off »
You mission is to give that answer .

@VIPER-0 said in Question about landing on Airport in the night - no light on from the base:
server rendering 3d image (-norender off)
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control.
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi.
the lights came on on the server
the boys from the wing spent all their time flying in osan and the lights are already on even during the day and at night.
wait 12 hours and create a package in osan where our wing squadron is and the daylights come on.
the lights keep on.
the BMS server is minimized so that it does not consume CPU even when rendering (-norender off)
bms application cpu usage 4% 1.5 gbram
I can not put photos 2 days ago says
(Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later.)Since I did the last test 3 days ago, the lights stay on. Our wing has been in operation for days and the lights are stable.
the test conditions are in my text quoted above
when the server restarts then I will do the same procedure but with -norender enabled (not rendering) -
@MaxWaldorf Hi Max. Yes the Airport in myn use case is always in a remote airport. Hiroshima. While the squadron airport is Seoul.
-
@Mav-jp Hi Mav. Itis very difficult for me because i have no video card in the server.
But i will try anyway if it is important. I will let you know.

After several tests I can give a kind of final verdict.
perform the same test with the features described above but with (-noreder) without rendering 3d image.
negative result do not turn on the lights. Then I returned the server to the 3d rendering state (-norender) but this time starting the server in the daytime and they didn’t turn on either.
After different variants and tests, the following conditions always turned on the lights.
server rendering 3d image (-norender off)
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control.
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi
An interesting fact is that if I meet the above conditions, even rendering the image (-norender off) and I set the server time after sunrise, the lights do not turn on, so it must always be set before sunrise, the time must be between sunset and the dawn
-
@VIPER-0 interesting Viper! I will try as soon as possible.
-
@gundam hq control…mm. if is it human doesn’t work?

GUN I am keeping all the test constant as I can except the one I modify to see the result. If I start touching everything I lose the thread and I don’t get any conclusion. Now I have an idea of when the lights always come on. Now then I will try different variants. What is clear is, until now. server rendering 3d image, time between sunset and sunrise and server plane 5 min before takeoff (taxi condition) so the lights always turn on

Hi Viper.
Clear. I am going to reproduce the same set of parameter y identify. I will let you know.
My question, just to share, is because i tried the same set of parameters expect the HQ control, in my case it doesn’t works. So i was thinking that the specific step “HQ control” was a key success factor But i will try.
Ciao

@gundam Hi Viper All,
In my scenario replicating the parameter as Viper described dosen’t work. Just i want to underline a little difference but at this point could be important. See below point by point.
server rendering 3d image (-norender off) --> Ok the server was without norender option.
change the time with the MC, so that it was at night, 1900z --> ! in my case i tried already in the night so i do not used MC to change time(!)
server squad in hiroshima, c17 squad with HQ control. --> Yes the same. I had a c-130 but i think it’s the same…
The server package was created 5 minutes before takeoff, so it leaves in a taxi --> yes the same.
After from the client (my PC) i created a flight and started in taxy (seoul a sweep of 1 ship). No lights on the airport. Even after request taxy on the Uniform.
I miss the step with MC.

So I understand you had no lights on client after asking taxi
Was the lights off on the server as well ?

@Mav-jp with no video card i can’t check this…if i open the window iconized the server risk to be in freeze. Anyway i can check and in the case restart. I suppose no anyway but i will try…

Sorry to tell but I will repeat it
I think you are all loosing time with this bug here
Without the information I ask , we are totally clueless
That information will be the start of the debug process. As long as we don’t have that information everything else is rather irrelevant .
