Why does the visibility in the game be decreased?

in the last vision i can easaliy find the target at around 8nm.i thought this is more realitic, bucause accoriding to the deacription of the art of kill(chapter 5),fighter pilot should put the TD box into the HUD at the range of 10mile(about 8nm).and the writer wrote that at this range you can get find the bandit by your eye.
however ,in the 4.33, only the distance between me and the bandit reduces to 3nm , i can get tally on it .
so it is fitterly difficult to find the bandit by my own eyes in the dogfight.it is really frustrated!!!:(:(:(:(
is there a method to change this sort of situation?? -

People that play sims always complain about visibility (in terms of getting a visual fix on other aircraft). I fly light aircraft and ATC often calls out nearby traffic. I can assure you it is VERY hard to get a fix on an aircraft even 3-5mi away. Even with two sets of eyes. Once you do have a fix and you lose it for a second it is frustratingly hard to regain that fix. If you don’t like that type of situation I guess you can use the toggle view option.

First, bear in mind that a RL fighter pilot generally has vision better than 20/20 to begin with!
There are a couple of tricks which can be used to augment one’s natural vision - one being not to try to “find” the bogey as much as to detect movement of the bogey; it’s easier for the eye to detect a change in the movement of an object in a scene than to discriminate the actual object. Second, use the most sensitive portion of the FOV of the eye - your foveal vision -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fovea_centralis
To do this you need to be looking slightly off of the object and not directly at it…this takes some practice, but it works both in the real world and in looking at/for small objects on a computer screen.
Bottom line is that just like in the real world you have to continually scan and monitor your scene - but there are techniques you can employ to help yourself.

I too, had noticed it was harder to see ground targets (in particular) until I was really close, and then I got to wondering if I had clicked on Smart Scaling in the UI. It is in the Simulation tab and not Graphics so it was easy to overlook when getting setup. Sure enough, the box was unchecked.
If that doesn’t solve your problem, then you may just be having more difficulty getting a good visual because the new terrain makes camouflage work better. SAM launchers next to trees are a bit more difficult to spot and I think this is one of the most awesome additions to the sim. I have had to rely on sensor data a lot more lately in order to locate ground targets because they are often located in or around the wooded areas.
In the A-A arena, I am loving the multiple cloud layers. Going in and out of a 5K ft.-thick cloud layer in a knife fight is just friggin’ awesome. Really makes it hard to tell up from down some times, especially when your pulling hard enough and leaning so much you can’t see the pitch scales in the HUD. Coming out of the clouds at 7K ft. nose down (in a thunderstorm) at 450 KIAS will momentarily turn your attention away from the bandit!
Now I’ll try it out with Smart Scaling on, and see how much of a difference that makes. I’m still playing around w/ a lot of stuff and still haven’t gotten around to all the new ordinance and targeting features. Not to mention the new pits and naval ops. 3-4 weeks may have meant 3-4 years, but these guys gave us enough to play w/ to shut us up for another “3-4” weeks! My hat is off to the BMS team. I don’t know how or why you do it, but I can’t thank you guys enough.
