Problems in Multiplay
-
I will try to describe the Situation:
Since some weeks we (VJS161) use 4.33 . We wrote all our missions new again which means we didn’t Export any missions from 4.32.
However: All of the Hosts (diffident Hosts - All Win7) had open ports. All Clients used 500 bandwidth. No one used any mods.
When the game starts-all was looking fine. Rampstart, take off, enrouting and the Drama began:
In the target area, no enemy CAP
s are present although the AWACS called them. Ground Targets and 3d objects wasn
t visible. Sometimes- a thread was popping up and went away. Later, in TACVIEW, are a lot of enemy Missiles in the air but still no enemy’s.In 2d planning map all aircrafts are present and working well. But after a jump into the Cockpit all enemy aircrafts and 3d objects like airbase houses and Hangars are still missed. No RWR indications- Only Sentry is barking …
Same effect in Balkan after a 300NM run against a warfare Fabric - simply no target and no enemy wasn`t in the air. I uploaded the last squadron Training here as tacfile:

Thanks and sorry for my English

Clients need more than 500 BW in 4.33, 1024 is safe to go.
Server HOST ALL must be on, and clients needs to have ports open too.

….
Server HOST ALL must be on, a…
Where did this come from? First time I’ve seen this as a ‘suggestion’, let alone a ‘must’.
Can you link to that discussion please?

Ok, thanks. I’m only up to page ~143 in this manual.
But to nit-pick, “Should” (BMS Manual) does not equal “Must” (earlier post).

g_bServerHostAll This option should always be set to 1 (Enabled). When enabled the MP host technically owns ALL units. When set to 0 the client requesting a unit to deaggreate will own it, making it responsible for distributing it over the network. Previous experience showed that this can minimise bandwidth demand on the host, but that it will create many more problems and sync issues. Options: 0/1.
Well, the language used supports the apparent consequences of not following it.
