https://dl.dropbox.com/u/52885432/MFD%20Android%20Samsung%20Galaxy%20Tab.hpfThis setup of mine is based on a Win7 64bit,Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1,and custom keyfile(I used the default keyfile callbacks for the left and right OSB buttons).
Let start cooking.
Install Idisplay on your rig and android device and set it up.
Install Helios per instructions.
Now open up x:\Users\……\Documents\Helios\Profiles and put the MFD profile i’ve created in here.
Run the Helios control center and load the MFD Android Samsung Galaxy profile. The two MFD bezels will popup in your tabblet.
If you are running on a other android device open up Helios Profile Editor load the MFD Android Samsung Galaxy profile, open up the profile tab and hit reset monitors and hit okay.Let’s turn up the heat a bit
Install the MFDE you’ve downloaded and run it.
The two screens of the MFD’s will popup on your main screen.
Drag the two mfd screens to your Android devices and sqeez and stretch them till they fit in your bezzels. Now to top this dish off.
Open your falcon bms.CFG fileAnd search for: set g_bExportRTTTextures 1 // This enables the shared texture memory area for HUD/MFDs/HMS/RWR/DED/PFL. This is independent from BMS external window usage!
by default it’s set to 0 change it to 1Next line to be changed :g_bEnableExclusiveMouseCapture 0
by default it is set to 1 change it into 0 or else it wont interact with BMS.Your done now, start up BMS and have some fun.
Don’t forget to turn off the stove and do the dishes.I used the A-10 MFD bezzel that come’s with Helios,i’ve only programmed the OSB buttons.
Idisplay is a bit laggy but hey it work’s fine.
In Helios you can put in all kind switches rotarie’s buttons etc. etc just make it to your own flavors.
The only disadvantage is that you only want to touch the OSB buttons otherwise the MFD’s will freez BMS will keep running.Have fun,

Hmmm…. haven’t tried it yet… I wonder if it works with other tablets as well, ICS, 7", etc… I wonder if it is possible to use 2 x 7" CHEAP android tablets ( not that cheap: Cortex A8, 1G ram, dedicated 3d )!?
What do you think? It’s cheaper and more “flexible” than those 7" or 8" LCD monitors / Digital portraits.

good

Very very nice!!!
I will try when i get my samsing tab 2 10.1.I was wondering if it is possible to put other instruments on the unused space on the tablet. DED, ADI, HSI…

Nice job !
Only a MFD output? or interactable via virtual OSB -
There’s noticeable lag on the tablet, is it the network connection or the tablet’s proccessor that’s the most likely culprit? Or bad software?
-
Everything is working on my motorola defy+ but when i touch an OSB it does show the animation of the pushed OSB in the phone but it doesnt do anything inside of the game. Any clue? BTW this is an awesome mod, thx for it.

Sweeping the fora, there seems to be so many variations on this “Tablet” theme.
Wasn’t even a variable when I was dev’ing; hadn’t even seen a tablet.
(Except for the ones I used to sleep)So - you recommend that one, Dracfalcon…? Out of the myriad of threads, that’s the one to go with…?
Okay, then. I’ll point my shapely nose in that direction.
Cheers for that.

Absolutely recommend it! Been using it for a while now. You will not be disappointed. If you have two tablets…even better.

There’s a cpl ways…
1. Open the post with your tablet… follow the link to the .apk file… and download it directly to your tablet… you will probably need to get the “MEGA” application installed on your tablet to download it. Open your file directory on the tablet… you should find the .apk file in the download directory. Long press the file and it should present an install option.2. Download it to your PC… (again… you’ll probably need to install the Mega program) then email yourself with the .apk attached… and open your email from your tablet… save the attachment… follow the steps above… find it… long press … install
Drac turned me on to this quite some time ago, and I would not fly with out it now. It’s full of great features… Moving map like a GPS showing aircraft location… Clickable air bases that pull up ILS/TWR frequencies and airbase info… much more… you’ll be impressed!
