Wrong game GUI size : BMS 4.32 update 6
-
Hello Icarus,
I do not know if I run in windowed mode, but I do not think so.
I have a clean install with defaults, besides keys and resolution. The game runs full screen 1920x1080. The GUI does not have a window around it, just a wide black frame.
How do I control window mode, or not, in order to test your proposal?
-
Hello again,
Ok now I know what windowed mode is. I tried F4-BMS.exe -window. Then the answer is no, I am not using windowed mode. I am launching through “Launcher.exe”->launch. No additional parameters.
However, the “non windowed” GUI looks and have the same size and resolution as the “windowed GUI”, but the “non windowed” GUI does not have a proper window frame, just a large background.
I prefer the initial “full screen” look when the GUI covered the while 1920x1080 screen. -
There should be a scaling option in your graphic card control panel. Uncheck retain aspect ratio and it will allow stretching the GUI to fill the screen. Sorry I can’t be more specific…I use an ATI now.

Hello Pilgrim, Icarus and all,
Works for me!
I unchecked Aspect Ratio and selected full screen instead.
Thank you Pilgrim and Icarus.

I have the same problem on my laptop. would you tell me how did you sort it out more detailed please?
My graphic card is “AMD Radeon HD 6600M” -
Hello Buddyspike,
I have Nvidia GTX 670.
1: I selected NVIDIA Control panel -> Display -> Adjust desktop size and position.
2: Changed “scaling mode” from “Aspect Ratio” to “Full-screen”.
3: Changed “perform scaling on:” from “Display” to “GPU”.I now have both GUI and game as full screen.
I do not know what happened. I assembled a new PC. Installed win7 + Falcon BMS without modifying anything and all was well for a while, until suddenly I had the problem I reported.
I did have a recent NVIDIA driver upgrade. Perhaps the upgrade flipped/changed a parameter, or I did something else wrong…. -
Enabling “Cockpit Displays to External Windows” in BMS configuration causes this too by enabling windowed mode. Uncheck this and you might not need the setting in nVdia unless you are extracting mfd’s.
-
Thank you for the advice. I have had “Cockpit Displays to External Windows” unchecked throughout, though. The Nvidia settings work fine in F4 BMS. I have not discovered any side effects related to other programs.

Mine is ATI, I didn’t find such a setting in Catalyst Control Center. I decided to install BMS on my new laptop, after installation I encountered the wrong screen size problem but I didn’t know that in 3D the screen size is correct. after reading your post, I checked the 3D and found that my problem is exactly same as yours. hope I can solve it. -
For ATI, open Catalyst Control Center. Click “My Digital Flat Panels” then “Properties”. In the section labeled “Image Scaling”, check “Enable GPU scaling” and select “Scale image to full panel size”.
There is a bug that only allows selecting the choices when in 1024x768 mode on some systems. If the selections are grayed out, try changing to that resolution, making your choice, and switching back to the original resolution.
Hope this helps.

Hello all.
I have somewhat the same issue. the GUI is taking up maybe a third of the monitor, but when i press “FLY” the screen then pops to the correct 19201080 setting. I have tried the GPU settings no luck.
I have a second monitor for MFD extraction and other gauges, these are not effected. I have tried to change the settings of the “MAIN” in the “Cockpit display extraction” But only allows me to change the LEFT/RIGHT options, and the “Borders”
I have also tried to enable borders and then manually resize the window, with no luck.
It is not a critical problem, it’s just annoying not to have the Whole GUI on my 19201080
Any ideas?MIL

602nd VFS “Devils”as far as I know, if cockpit display extraction is enabled, you are stuck with the smaller window. On the plus side, it does mean you can do other things outside falcon that would normally require alt tabbing to do - WDP is a frequent example for me.

OK, THX then I’ll stop trying to make it bigger (so-to-speak)
