-
Thanks Arty. I didn’t know this one!

Argh, no matter what I do I can’t get it right. I take it regular sellotape is the wrong stuff to use? What grease/lube are you guys using?
Should I try this tape?
-
yeap it’s wrong…
the plastic surface must be slick.
cut a tape and to connect the edges and fit it there so not to go away u could use sellotape.
The tape can be cut from an A4 plastic page. But what I display in the pic above should be just enough.

Sorry mate I don’t follow. Sellotape isn’t suitable, or it is?
Or should I just order some of that slick tape from my link?

Cello tape is bad.
UHMW Film Tape is good,
PTFE Tape is better

Use lithium grease, it doesn’t dissolve plastic like regular grease can. -
THanks guys I’ll try and source some PTFE adhesive tape. I take it you all still apply tin foil to the rubber grip bit?

The tin foil I’m referring to is in this guide:

Is this the right kind of tape?
I was wondering the same thing.
If it is, does anyone know which width is the best fit for the throttle, as that tape is available in different widths from 19mm to 100mm?

I’m giving it a go mate. £7 for 2m, so if it’s good I can send you some? I see you’re in the UK so it’d only be the cost of a stamp.
-
LOL. The way things are going with the postal service stamps will be £7 soon
I fitted Cubby’s HS+ kit to my TQS a few years back now so it’s the only mod I’ve not done yet. I think it’s time to venture back inside…
Let us know how you get on. Pictures, or it didn’t happen

No! That is plumbers tape. No adhesive, it will slip off. You need adhesive tape, like this stuff. http://www.amazon.com/CS-Hyde-Confor…ords=PTFE+Tape
Its not white, it is translucent greyish brown in color. It is hard to source and i have not had time to find it. I just woke up. It is usually very expensve.
Edit: Here is some cheaper stuff on eBay:
Tin foil is optional and has to be a flawlessly smooth application (no wrinkles). Foil duct tape works well.

No No NO! That stuff has fibreglass in it and it is rough.
This is the stuff
