Saitek x65 single keystroke not repeating
-
How to I get a single non repeating keystroke in the x65?
Speficially, I am tryin to map alt F3 and alt f4 (for TGP zoom) and the keystrokes repeat instead of single.
Such that instead of zooming only 1 notch, it zooms all the way in and vice versa for unzooming.
Any x65 owners here have an answer?
Cheers brothers.

Away from my BMS computer with my profile, but did you try advanced programing where you can program a press, delay, then release? It has been how I have programmed Saitek since the X36. I believe this is how I have the throttle scroll wheel to the FOV, the rudder trim to one of the throttle hats, and the dogfight/MRM to the mode switch (practically everything else is DX .key edits)

Hi, Mower,
Yes I, too have had issues with 'combo commands". My solution was to go to the UI and reassign the main commands to “singles”. For example(AFK but from memory) TMS up is now Home, not Control+ Home.
The exact procedure, using my example, was to click on the command for TMS up, it turns color, click Home. The UI will jump to whatever Home was, and it will turn color. Just click on it to make it “go gray”, and that’s it. If you don’t mind losing the f4 List command, just make it F4
And Snake, thx for the post. That gives me an idea on something I’m working on. -
I’d go Snake’s route. Use Advanced Programming, and make your command a Macro.
In the Advanced Commands menu, you’ll want to make sure you’re creating a Macro (checkbox up and to the right of the Press Window), and then (in the “Press” window) press and release the key sequence you want. In this case, you want to Press and Release in this sequence: ALT, F3, F3, ALT. You’ll see two icons for each key - one of them represents the pressing of that key, and the other indicates the releasing. Now you can use your mouse to actually “cut” the “releases” from the Press Window, and paste them into the Release Window.
You can then adjust the delay between each keystroke.
At the end of the process, you should have icons indicating the pressing of “ALT F3” in the Press Window, and two icons indicating the releasing of those keys “F3 ALT” in the Release Window.
Because it is a macro, it will only fire once, and it will fire in exactly the sequence you’ve given it, which is why you Press ALT first, and release F3 first (to avoid unintentional results). At the end of the day, your computer, upon pressing that button on the X65F, will trigger Press ALT, Press F3, Release F3, Release ALT exactly once.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Actually I’m wrong about making it only fire once. I use a macro like this for opening speed brakes incrementally, as long as I’m holding down that key. I’m honestly not sure how to make something ONLY happen once, but I think the instructions I’ve given will get you that result, provided you only press the button once 2nd Edit: I suppose you could try leaving all of the key commands in the “Press Window” instead of moving the release commands to the “Release Window.” That might make it only fire once…
