Weather Settings Question
-
If I am using the Map Model with Auto-Update, I am confused about how dynamic this causes the weather to be in a campaign.
Am I understanding correctly that I FIRST choose a weather type (ie. fair, poor, sunny etc) when choosing a mission in a campaign, and that THEN the Map Model with Auto-Update will adjust for this SPECIFIC type of weather (as determined by settings underlying it) to adjust across the Korean territory for that mission, but will NOT change the type of weather subsequently in following mission in the campaign? For example, I choose “fair” weather for Mission 1, it will not change by itself in subsequent missions to eventually become “inclement”, it will always be fair?
Thank you for any assistance here.
EDIT: Is the GRIBS the means to get what I am looking for? It appears to be but just not sure.

you are totally wrong.
have you read the bms manual ?

Yes. Apparently I will go back to that section and try again to understand it. From your reply I assume that Map Model and Auto Update will change the type of weather during a campaign. Without choosing a type of weather to start though (which is where I am not understanding at the moment)? Thank you.

first with map model you dont choose a weather type you chose a MAP which can have many different weather types from a place to another…
second autoupdate is used to load maps that are in the autoupdate folder. but you need to put maps yourselves in those and named them accordingly to the day and timz you want them to load.

There are basically 3 kinds of weather:
Global deterministic
Global probabilistic
Localized (Map)So you see when you choose a map method it doesn’t matter “initial weather” but it’s whatever the map data is.

So to clear this out.
If u select and activate fmap all the rest ui settings for weather are ignored?
if not how do they interconnect? -

Bump!!!

if not how do they interconnect?not all…
everything that is not included in the fmap remains valid , like :
CLoud layers altitudes
cumulus coverage
Turbulences …you will notice that when you select fmap model, the UI page about pressure and temp are blanked for instance…

Thanx for the answers.
Ok so I can have a sunny day with zero visibility?Oh and not to be misunderstood this is a q from a squad m8… He wanted to “play” with fmap and have zero visibility at the same time.

its more like a bug/beta testing finding in Ikaros theater than a question.
