-
Hi guys, i need help of experts,
answer me if this is possible, i want
to use the F-18 with F-16 cockpit
(well i’m doing this now) but as well
we know that from the inside F-16
cockpit to external view, missiles,
bombs and external tanks are not
correctly seen in hardpoints ( i would
you send a pic but i’m not at home
now, if you have used a plane with
F-16 cockpit sure you’ll understand
me) now if i want to use the F-18
with F-16 cockpit but from the inside
view to external view be the F-18
wings, not F-16 wings, if you
understand answer me please i would
want to know if this is possible -
yes its possible. which model of f18?

download this file and extract
http://www.mediafire.com/download/7uiqqu80h72j2bd/f18ckptart.zip
put a copy of the 1799 folder and the 1409 folder in the …/Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Art\ckptart folder and again in the …/Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Art\ckptartn folder (one is daytime, one is nighttime) overwrite existing files.
if you want to know how i did it, i copied the f16 cockpit file, and inserted the correct parent number for the cockpitwingsmodel.
let me know if you have any questions. backup your ckptart folders before you do this.

Sorry about the thread-necro, but I just did the same for the CF-188 / CF-18A in case if anyone wants to fly for the Canadians in Iron Fortress
Please follow the same instruction as the quoted post above, folder name 1406.

Great job crazyjap, veritable. Has anybody had success performing a similar conversion for the F/A-18E/F? If you guys can give me permission, I can add the download links for your mods to the first page of my Korea 2012 Megapack front page.

Here are the Super Hornets, 1958 for the E and 1959 for the F: http://www.mediafire.com/download/a5k5994nzqneuif/superhornetsckptart.zip

Thanks for this but… i prefer to use the Hornet because the Super Hornet Flight Model is not good modelled

Would this work for any plane? (F15E? A10?)

a10 already has a decent pit (there are some updated textures around the forum somewhere)
but yes, you can put the 16 pit in any jet.
-
I think the A10 does have a decent pit, but using the 16 pit makes any plane easier to fly IMO (I know where the electronics, switches, etc are located) Plus I like how the Hornet and A10 have proper weapon/wing placement.
Another question (maybe another thread topic or answered somewhere else) is there a list of planes considered “flyable” on BMS?
-
if you want realism, the F-16CM.
if that takes second place, the M2000 is flyable, with weapons that tread the bounds of all possibility… the hornet is becoming more flyable I understand. The F-22 has a nice cockpit available, but a frankly incredibly simple flight model.
if you like having a good flight model, stick the Viper IMO.
-
I agree whole heartedly with the viper having the same flight model, but sometimes it’s just nice to hope into something else and try something different. Sometimes I still hop into a B1 or B2 and just carpet bomb the crap out of a target.
I’ve tried the M2000, and it’s fun, always been a fan of the jet.

Hi guys !
I’m sorry to update this old thread, but is it possible to put the cockpit of Mirage 2000D in the F/A-18E ? My question sounds weird, I guess, but with the F-16 cockpit we haven’t the arch like the real

I like to give thanks, so I want to to say with complete sincerity just how grateful I am for this post.
You see, I am always had a dilemma. My sim roots are in naval ops, but my favorite HOTAS/avionics has been the Viper. Thanks to this thread, I finally have both. -
BTW, are there files for the Hornet-C with nose modeling and the the 4.33 cockpit ?

Sure there are……pre installed and ready to fly in the sim.

I meant the 4.33 Viper 'pit in the Hornet C. The 4.33 Viper cockpit added some more working switches, as I’m sure you know.
