I’m just curious… Way back in the SP3 (maybe earlier) we were first switching theaters externally, and they a major break through happened when we were able to change the theaters internally. Why are we going backwards?

since you have to reboot the sim anyway, why not switch before you run the game?
i wasnt around before when you had to switch externally, but this is a neat tool.

Every time you switch theater you must go back to desktop and then re-launch the game to properly work. The reason is that the registry keeps a value of the active theater path, so since this value is not updated real time (from when in game) you have to move away and re-enter in order to see the change > newly selected theater. Not a game issue, Microsoft’s.

I wrote this for two reasons -
1. To allow me to check WITHOUT going into the UI to see the current active theatre, and
2. To allow me to change theaters without the need to go into the UI, change the theater, back out to desktop, the go back into the UI.Both, for me at least and it was seem some others too, saves a bit of time and unnecessary back and forth from the desktop/UI. If I wanted to be really anal, I could also add it saves on HD access, thus saving power and in my own little way saving the planet* too! If you consider this a backward step then of course you are entitled to your opinion, but can I ask, have you actually tried it yet?
- The planet doesn’t actually need saving, it’ll do fine and well without us. We’re the ones that need saving

It’s came to light that it’s necessary for users to keep their theater.lst file clean - uninstalled theaters which don’t remove their entries from the list means there is still a problem with the parsing of the list and will cause it to fail. If you’re having problems getting it to run, first off make sure all the entries in your list are still valid. Remove any that are no longer needed.
I’ll continue to try to fix this so obsolete entries are ignored.
Thanks to all who have offered feedback and helped me identify this issue

Hmmm, strange… I have never done that… That probably explains why sometimes it crashes… lol

Great little tool, thanks for making it.
I have version 1.0.2 installed on win 7, 64
All was working good until I uninstalled the Battle for Sinai theater.now when trying to start the program it returns a “runtime error 6; overflow”
I checked the theater.lst file and all looks good there, only theaters that are installed and Battle for Sinai is gone.
I tried a reboot, deleted and restarted a fresh 1.0.2 same results.
Thoughts??
