TGP recenter
-
Is there a targeting pod re-center button? I have been manually slewing the eye back to my 12 o’clock position but sometimes it takes too long while your busy in combat doing other things like staying alive.
Thanks. I know DCS A-10 has this feature and I assume a real pod would also. -
OSB 9 ? (CZ) Thats when I have it slaved to the FCR with a lock and TGP ground stabilised. Can’t remember if ive tried it with no lock
-
no. if u unlock it, it will return to ur radar position.
-
IRL is CZ to recenter the SPI and TGP to the original SPI position.
Currently it’s TMS down because it’s not completely implemented. -
So tms down while TGP is SOI does the trick?
-
yep. You need to go back before the Area Track since slew is not implemented currently.
-
If there is an advantage to using CZ its that you can instantly continue to move the cursor without a tms down delay. Which of course isn’t much with a hotas. Both CZ and tms down will re centre (works for me)
I typicaly have one hand on the mouse rather than stick (adjustments to view) so cz is best for me. -
Thanks guys ill try both ways and see which works best for my setup.

ATM its a bit confusing to understand because in Slave mode you can’t slew the TGP, but that is also wrong…

Is there a way to cage the tgp to the fpm?

You can switch to Vis mode. Experience it yourself, it’s slow and not very friendly from my experience. SP is better indeed.

Either way it takes forever to get the tgp cursor down in the HUD from the steerpoint.

That’s the point of SP. It’s in front of you, set the FCR to the range you want and it’s there.
EDIT: you have to unlock your TGP too, but you already know that I suppose.

Use markpoints. Set up a markpoint as you approach a target of interest, then if you don’t attack it on that pass, you can just TMS aft (down), CZ, WFOV and your SPI will immediately move back to your markpoint, which should be pretty close to movers and bang on anything not moving.

I’m fairlycertain it was in response to Mower’s question which wasn’t posted 4 years ago
