How to completely unbind/unmap the POV hat and buttons?
-
I’d like to completely unbind/unmap my joystick’s POV hat and all its buttons. How do I do this? Somehow Falcon keeps using my POV for 8way view control and it has functions mapped to the buttons. I can’t find a way to remove these mappings…

You have to search for those functions in keyfile and remove the lines or use pskeys software to help you.
Good luck! -
That’s the thing… The buttons and POV hat aren’t mentioned in the Keystrokes.key/BMS.key files so how do I unbind them?
Also, what is pskey? Google doesn’t give a lot of useful results…
Thanks!

MS FFB2. Google came up with some weird stuff Nokia once made for their cell phones when searching for PS Keys. Thanks for the link.
But I still can’t find a way to tell BMS to NOT use my hat for view contol…

Use this in your keyfile
OTWViewLeft -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “VIEWGEN: Rotate View Left”
OTWViewRight -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “VIEWGEN: Rotate View Right”
OTWViewUp -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “VIEWGEN: Rotate View Up”
OTWViewDown -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “VIEWGEN: Rotate View Down”To replace this
OTWViewDown -1 0 0X50 0 0 0 1 “View-Rotate Down”
OTWViewLeft -1 0 0X4B 0 0 0 1 “View-Rotate Left”
OTWViewRight -1 0 0X4D 0 0 0 1 “View-Rotate Right”
OTWViewUp -1 0 0X48 0 0 0 1 “View-Rotate Up”This should render your POV hat to do absolutely nothing as you requested. BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL KEYFILE!

Hello JayPee,
assuming that the joystick is your only game controller and that it has 32 buttons and a single POV-hat, you could replace the existing joystick mappings with the following lines to unbind the buttons:
SimDoNothing 0 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 1 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 2 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 3 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 4 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 5 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 6 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 7 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 8 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 9 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 10 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 11 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 12 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 13 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 14 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 15 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 16 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 17 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 18 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 19 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 20 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 21 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 22 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 23 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 24 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 25 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 26 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 27 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 28 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 29 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 30 -1 -2 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 31 -1 -2 0 0 0
and add eight more to unbind the hat as well:
SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 0 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 1 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 2 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 3 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 4 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 5 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 6 0 0 SimDoNothing 0 -1 -3 7 0 0
Respectfully,
Thingol

Thingol, first of all thanks for pointing in the right direction. However, ALL buttons and the hat are now bound to “Ckpit-UHF Normal/Backup” instead of no function. Any clues?
EDIT: Nevermind. It seems the GUI says “Ckpit-UHF Normal/Backup” is bound to all buttons and the hat yet ingame nothing happens. Thanks so far!
