Can't talk to the tower
-
Hello,
I’ve been struggling with this for days. In my data cartridge I’ve set the tower frequency on uhf 15, in flight I load the cartridge, then I set my uhf present to 15. Then using the tower page (normally ‘T’ but I’ve assigned it to shift-Y) I press for example 1, inbound. Then nothing happens, the other functions don’t work either. But when I touchdown, I hear (and see with blue letters) the tower saying: “next time wait for your turn” or something else.
What am I doing wrong?

Well, I’d say you did everything right.
Can you repeat this consistently ? Was it on a TE or in campaign ? What was the airbase ? Does this happens for every airbase ?
Last but not least : if you use the default keystrokes files, with Tower assigned to T, does this happens ?

Unless you do a Ramp start you dont need to load the Data cartridge at all.
If you do a rampstart then you may load the DC on the ground not in the air.
Remember to save the DC after setting tower to uhf 15.

Good point about saving, but he heard the tower at touchdown, so I’d say he did it.
Loading the DTC in flight might be useless, but it doesnt hurt either.

When I assign T again, everything is working. Now when I assign any other radio (tanker, flight commands) to a shift + (random key), they aren’t working anymore. So I guess this is a bms bug.

I believe those keys (comms keys, T, W, E etc.) are hard coded and cannot be altered.

They can be changed, but not with shift I think. (I currently run tanker on Y and formation commands on I)

I have found that Thrustmaster’s “Target” software does’t reproduce shifted key press correctly.
For example asigning coms VHF/UHF to a hat on the throttle with Alt-1/Alt-2 is non functional.
I then assign a single key press in my keyfile and problem solved, it doesn’t like shifted functions.

To sort a radio problem, do not use DTC or channels preset!!!
Enter the freq directely in UFC!

let me rephrase that:
I have found that my programming of Thrustmaster’s “Target” software does’t reproduce shifted key press correctly.

It seem like you need some help with your problem.
