Voodoo's Profile

I like my CH Pedals. I’ve had them for a number of years and work fine.
I actually bought my pedals fly the Ka-50 and the A-10C in DCS both of which require pedals to fly. The F-16 really doesn’t need them except for steering on the ground and I think there is a way to set up your mouse wheel to operate the NWS. Try a search in this section.
I would say if you were going to make a “next purchase” for flying it should be Track IR if you do not already have it. Amazing device, I would not fly without it again. There are some free head tracking options but from what I understand they can be finicky. Check here https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?54-Head-Tracking.
Yes, first set up the controls then go into Explorer and set the two files to “read only”. That should solve the issue.

Ok, thats interesting about the pedals. I knew about the NWS so that’s cool (it is also mapped on the profile), but I thought that the pedals might be used more, particualrly during flight. Oh yea, TrackIR all the stuff that I hear about it was also one of the “intimidating” factors why I have not used the sim for a number of years now because I thought that my equipment was not enough. However it looks like that will indeed be the next purchase.
Yep, you are right about the read-only on the files, this should be done after the initial setting of the controls in the sim. I tried it and it now works like a charm.
I think that what i will do now is immerse myself into using the profile as is with the trsining missions. I have gone back to good old “landing, final approach…” I know that there are a few trining vids around and on Youtube that I will go through once I am comfortable that my basic setup is correct.
Eventually, when I do get to the online stage, which site do you fly with online?
Thanks agian for the help mate, now I am sadlling up to join the fight…
Cheers, -
Glad to hear that got sorted out.
Regarding pedals for the F-16, I have read many accounts on this forum that you do not use rudder even with crosswind landings. Apparently the computer does it all for you and if you do apply rudder it can screw things up. I have zero experience flying let alone an F-16 so I have to take their word for it Now DCS aircraft you do require them to do coordinated turns and of course any kind of hop-ta-copter.
I fly on the Falcon Online (FO) server when they have a campaign running. Battle for the Sinai starts this Sunday It is PvP, forced ramp start, etc… lots of fun and challenging. Once you’re set up just PM me when you want to join up, I can run a TE or Campaign for up to 4 pilots online. I’m GMT-8 time zone.

I jumped over to the FO site to have a look, awesome! I can say that I aspire to join…soon.
One more nagging issue: My trottle seems to be wrong. It is incredibly sensitive such that I have to leave it in idle/off position to fly straight at say 300kt. In the setup page it moves from idle to max power with just a nudge (not even a slight push, only a nudge). So for example, I cannot set the AB point because the scale is off the box if I even touch the Z-Rotation. If I fly without the profile (say the BMS profile), then the trottle appears to be normal. With that I can move the Z-Rotation through the full range quite smoothly.
With the Voodoo’s profile, I also make sure that my settings are like these: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8844-Mud-s-Profile&p=155588&viewfull=1#post155588
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
Cheers,

It could be you have not set your idle and AB in the main settings page.
Set your throttle at the idle position then right click “set A/B” button, it should set a red line where the throttle indication is. If it’s a green line then just re-click only do a left click instead. Sorry can’t remember which one is which, right click for idle and left click for A/B or vise versa… Now move your throttle to the A/B stop and either right or left click to get a green line where the throttle indicator is.
Should look like mine when you are done.
Hopefully that’s the issue.

Brilliant! I cannot believe that it was so easy. OK, I just downloaded all 18 of Krause’s tutorials to watch while I am travelling this weekend (gone to Greece for vacation).
I wont get to practice, but I think that I will at least get to watch a few vids while the family is not lookingCheers pal!

Have a great trip.
Krause’s videos are great but also read the Dash-1 by Red Dog and the BMS Manual. They are in PDF in your Docs file a little light reading…
-
haha… cross my fingers that you will find a good place to watch the vids. let us know
cheers

Also had the problem with not having the right throttle settings (idle pwr to high) and not saving my axis settings. Now reading this makes thing clear
Thanks! -
I’m brand new was finally able to find and install falcon 4.0 along with BMS. I also just finally figured out that T.A.R.G.E.T. is free hahaha. So I’m curious what to do with the files and run them with TARGET in order to work. I got a different profile to work, however, I really would like to try this one too! Thanks for the help!
