Nephilims New Curved screen sort of..
-
Hey All,
I just built me new Curved screen and to my dismay the material I am using for the screen was the wrong size… I ordered a 4’x10’ sheet of Komatex and they sent me a 4’x8’ sheet…
WEll I had already moved my projectors back a foot and built the frame for the screen so I put the desk and the komatex to free stand to get an idea of what it will look like… It is amazing right now the dimensions are 33"Hx 8feet wide… soon to be 33"x10feet…
I have to wait until Monday to give Tri-Dee a call and let them know they sent the wrong piece. Well in the meantime I will just have to suck it up but enjoying it anyhow… Well here are some Pictures of BMS:

Nice but you really need to get least fullhd projectors… Resolution looks like back in 90"s

Well funny you should mention that… I run NVidia 3D Vision and when that is enabled it really does not look as bad… I was going to get some 1280x720 HD Projectors that is as high as the Resolution goes for 3D Vision…
When I wear the glasses and 3D turned on it looks really good and I run some AA which helps make it look better… the screenshots without the 3D are not really a true representation of what it looks like…
Perhaps my aging eyes and the fact I been running lower resolutions since the 90’s seems to be fine to me?? I may try to get my Home Theater Projector and try a side by side comparison… As the ONLY real Difference I see is the desktop has smaller icons at the higher resolutions…
WEll if you have a camera could you take a external shot of your F4 perhaps then I will see?? I did the Maverick Training mission in the above screenshots… the other benefit to running the lower res is I have to draw the screen 6 times more then a single screen… 3 for the triple and 3 for 3D Vision… IT is really asking a lot to draw at a higher resolution

Well I finally Finalised the Curved screen setup… here is a small video of it in action… the Screen measures 4’x10’x3mm…

Cool, could you tell us what hardware you are using for this setup?
And a take off video from this pov would be awesome (maybe with artys new runway textures)Regards

In falcon you can be pretty sure that:
out there is always AT LEAST one guru with a setup that you would not even believe to exist if you were told about it.
another user (m.) or what his name was like has three 290X and a 3970 or 3920 intel frozen to minus 20 degrees ( you know the quad channel intel cpu’s) on just 5.7 GHz
for …. 3 X (4096 x 2160) pixel monster monitors. But if we know that then it is quite clear that somthing much better is being used secretely already…
nice setup the_nephilim!
personally i am convinced that a 4K up close with a touchscreen below is better for me (cheaper!)
congrats on loosing the ‘edges’. but for the lift line …

It is really neat to know that you can now build military, or at least what is starting to approach military-grade, home simulators. Awesomesauce!
