Trim getting stuck
-
So is the trim getting stuck for anyone else. Whenever I drop a bomb and my plane starts shifting either left or right I try and trim it but the trim always goes all the way towards the direction I’m trimming my plane and gets stuck in that position and I can’t unstuck it. Is there a key to reset the trim?
What am I doing wrong?

Need more details…using keyboard or controller for trimming? What key file are you using if mapped to keyboard? What controller if mapped to controller?
There is a trim reset switch, but it would be helpful to know what key file you are using. Not sure why it is getting stuck though, as I have never experienced that problem before.

I had the same problem long ago.
I think it had something to do with using another key press at the same time.
Or may be releasing the Shift/Alt key first ??

Yes, using key press for trim has opened many threads since -11.
Has usually to do with a shift/alt/Ctrl key combo and you need to remap it.Cheers

It used to happen to me when I used the keystrokes.key file and an X52 profile. Pressing trim while simultaneously pressing another joystick button would cause the trim to get stuck. I switched over to the BMS.key file and DirectX’d my X52 and haven’t had that problem since.

Yea I’m using keystrokes.key file but I always use my mouse to physically trim the plane in cockpit. What is the difference between keystroke and BMS keys? I use the first one because its easier to understand.

That my friend, is the issue. From the BMS 4.32 dash 1 - page 16
If this don’t help, come back and let us know.
The MAN TRIM wheels and knobs can be interfaced through keystrokes, mouse clicks or analogue
hardware such as potentiometers. The later solution gives much better and smooth results. A little
warning about mouse clicks: the way they are implemented is almost impossible to manage correctly
in flight and should be avoided. Left click start the trim movement and right click stop the trim action
and start the action in the opposite way. If you need to use the MANUAL TRIMS, do it with keystrokes
or analogue devices, not the mouse. -
Trim reset for keystrokes… <shift>+ <arrow up=“”>Best way is to map trims to joystick hat.
Second best way is to map trims to single key via UI
Mouse clicks in pit = pretty worthless in combat.</arrow></shift>
