Falcon 4.33 weird crash trend
-
Just to preface this I do want to say that falcon 4.32 works fine on my computer, it is only 4.33 that is having this issue.
So after downloading falcon bms 4.33 u1 I ran the game and everything went fine. I chose a random mission just to check out everything (it was the 2nd training mission on navigation). I clicked commit and it brought me to the pre mission screen. I then pressed the “takeoff” button in the bottom right corner. My cursor then changed to the parachuting icon and then disappeared. I waited a while thinking that the game was just loading before i pressed ctrl alt delete and went to task manager when I then saw the " Falcon BMS has stopped working error". So I tried it again and it did the same thing. So I then deleted my original Falcon 4.0 along with Falcon BMS 4.33, and then reinstalled. Again the same outcome. Then I thought maybe the graphics were too much for my PC. So I deleted both and reinstalled again except this time I turned both HDR settings, and the tree and grass densities to minimum. I also changed the resolution to 1920 x 1080, although my screen resolution is 3840 x 2160. So I went back to the same mission and went through the same procedure again and IT WORKED! I flew around for a little bit and then exited the game. When I came back to play, i loaded up again but then it crashed/froze and stopped responding again after clicking the “take off” button. I then decided to load back up and try another mission. This time when I clicked take off, it brought me to a screen that had ramp, and runway in the top right corner. When the clock got to 20:00, it went down to 19:59 and the froze and stopped responding again. I have searched all over the internet and multiple forums and tried all solutions but can not fix this issue. Some issues are similar to mine but not quite like this that is why I am posting this. Any help is much appreciated.

I’m pretty sure that not having the screen res. set in the game to the screen res. you have selected in your display management will cause crashes. Don’t know what you had it set to before you changed it, so you might have other issues. But I recommend making your res. setting in the game match your system res.
Your PC should run it fine. Don’t know about your GPU, is that a notebook card? 3GB or 6GB?
Maybe someone else has a better idea???
Best of luck!

Power performance to maximum?
Also if it has another on-board vga like Intel you might want to disable it first.Sent from TapaTalk

I have the resolution set to my native screen resolution and it still doesn’t work :(.

Make sure you have speakers or headset properly setup. I noticed one day when I had my speakers unplugged, game would crash every time.
Also, did you try to see if it would run in 32 Bit? Have heard reports that some can get to work in 32, but not in 64 on Win 10. Don’t know what the work around for that is, because I never had the problem, but you should be able to find info on that with the search bar.

Just tried running it as a 32 bit, no joy.
-
-window mode?
-
Going on very little info here. Do you have a crash log?
-
I haven’t been able to understand the directions on how to put it into windowed mode and i can post a crash log if someone can tell me where to find it.
-
In Falcon user folder u will find a logs folder. This is for the log.
For the window mode:
Right click the Launcher shortcut and add the “-window” without the quotes.
Save changes and run it.Sent from TapaTalk

I just tried to put it into windowed mode but it looks the same as before.

Okay guys, I figured it out. So what I had to do was run it in compatibility mode for windows 7, and switch the game to run in 32 bit. Hopefully someone can use this thread if they are having the same issue. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like your halfway there, in the case that you plan on any online flying. If not, and 32 Bit is acceptable, then no need to go further.
If you plan on online flights, all players must use the same Bit version. I know there is a fix for this, just use the search bar to find the related thread if you want to use 64 Bit.
