UI IVC Issue
-
Is the Degraded comms on IVC due to distance also applied to the UI interface? It appears that during the campaign the players in 3D can talk to each other and the UI can hear them just fine, but nobody in the 3D can hear the individual in the UI. Checked all the settings in the Controller page, checked to make sure it works in 3D. Mic is working fine etc… The only time I was able to communicate with the 3D world was when the flight was near the bullseye.
Anyone else have an issue like this?

It’s possible for the 2D person to be out of range of the 3D. The 2D person is assigned a position according to the 3D seat he has selected. Often this is AWACS which can be a long way away.

If you are seated in the AWACS, and have the right frequency set, and the flight you are contacting has not altered their outsiders line to none, and is at 25 miles, and is on your frequency, I cant see why they wouldnt be able to hear you.
There has been a few threads already opened on the topic, by the way.

Just do a search for “outsiders”.
This one is definitely worth a read, as of course is the BMS Manual: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?25524-Problem-with-custom-quot-IVC-Client-ini-quot-i-m-lost/page2&highlight=outsiders

This has not been my experience, but Im not using military aircraft radios. The attentuation effects sound similar to tapes. That said, the range does feel cripplingly short, especially considering the existence of radio relays. Even with those relays, two aircraft at 15kft should still have radio LoS out to much further than they do in the sim, more than double what we have.
