How i can create packages in a campaign?
-
Hello,
i want to create my own flights within a campaign. But Falcon do not allow this. I get 2 errors if i create a new package for a flight
1./ bad timing
2./ no aircrafts availableIf i start a new campaign, i remove the setting : settings by HQ
Next step: i delete all package flights
Then i want to create a new package flight. But the most time, i get the errors above. If not, the new flights are not shown by falcon in
the 2D map.
Check the attachments. The question is, how can i create my own missions within a campaign?
Thanks for answers.

Hi marvel
You have done the right thing, it just takes a while before those deleted flights “cycle” back to being available.
What you can do is create the flight/package a hour or two into the future.
Later it will depende how many airframes you lose out of the squad that will limit you.
Cheers and best of luck……Shad
PS; allways create flights at least 1/2 hour into the future to ensure against loadout problems ( this is more important for online flights).
PPS: in your first pic you were trying to create from the “23rd squad” while you were in the “22nd” Frag Order.

when you start the campaign, before hitting “OK” on the priorities screen, go to intel then “squadron” i think it’s called. toggle off “set by HQ” then click OK on the priorities screen. this will allow you to start the campaign with no AI scheduling at all. after that, choose your target, right click and click “add package” set a take off time and time on target, then click the add button, choose what aircraft you want to do it, if you want to fly the mission yourself you should always pick your squadron’s aircraft type. then select the squadron you want, which should generally be your squadron; you can tell what squadron you’re in by going to the intel –-> squadron menu. then select that, how many planes you want and the type of mission. after that click OK and it will schedule it. click ok again and then the mission will generate.
if you are still having problems after these instructions, post again and i’ll try to explain better. good luck.

Cik did you read his post ?
-
yes ?
he’s having problems because he’s detasking all of his aircraft and then trying to recreate missions too soon, which will result in “no aircraft available” because it takes a little while to repool all the aircraft. what i said will fix the problem ???

Hello Cik and Shadow,
thanks for your answers. I tested the way of Cik and it seems to work in the most cases.
One announcment:" … to intel then “squadron” i think it’s called."
Intel is on the top of the 2D map and then “fighter squadron” below . There you can remove the setting “set by HQ”.
After that click ok and no missions will be created anymore by the AI.
Now its important to select the correct fighter squad if 2 fighter squadrons are at the airport. And the time has to be > 30 minutes in the future.
Thanks for your help.

Maybe this will help too, thanks to Krause.

Marvelyou are welcome. it doesn’t always have to be 30 minutes. the ATO is a little finicky sometimes. if you’ve been flying many sorties or if the squadron is low on planes (viewable in the fighter squadron window) it will sometimes say “no planes available” even if there should be. if this happens just speed up time and wait a little while and it should be working again.
glad i could be of service.

Forgot to mention the flights you create in the ‘future’ can then have their take off time reduced to the time you actualy need.
This can be done in the ATO, find the package and right click “Show Flights” OR Use the “FlightPlan” Icon
The reason we use 30min is to allow for; Ramp Starts if required, setting Loadouts, asign targets to flight members, adjust flight plan, defining IVC channels to be used, taking a piss, refilling you class/getting a fresh bear and finaly saving “Data cartridge” , ect ect…. but never less than 20 min. And then when everyone is good to go moving the “commit” time up to 5min in the future for a non Ramp departure.
But if you need to “scramble” thats a bit different, or you are using “Takeoff” as opposed “time on target” if you dont change the time you will get “bad timing”
You will get the hang of it with time, have fun and never fly sober. as allways Aviate Navigate Communicate drink beer.:drink:

Thanks for posting this here - it’s one of my most underlooked tutorials. I hope it has been helpful to people - I really like to do package planning and I wanted to teach the masses how to do it in a simple, stress-free manner!

I actually have another issue just like this - when I got to create a package, I click add flight, or new, I set it all up, and when I hit okay, the entire package window closes. It’s impossible for me to add multiple packages to the same flight for some reason.
-
Find your Package in the ATO and go “Show Package” then you can add another flight.
Cheers

I don’t see SHOW PACKAGE, but I have ADD PACKAGE, and when I click it, it lets me create a new package with a target of the package that I am in, however, when I add flights to this package and they show up in the Frag Order, the have a different package number then my original flight.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this means that they will not be visible on the HSD via the Datalink?

The aforementioned bug only happens in MULTIPLAYER - the other flights being visible in datalink has nothing to do with this, they should be in the datalink network no matter what.
You will need to manually add them though, see my guide -

Indeed, I was having this problem on a dedicated server on my local LAN when flying with some friends.

That’s crazy - I thought only flights with the same package number were visible, oh well, live and learn.

Indeed, I made all my pilots watch this video so they would understand how to setup the Datalink for additional flights in the package. We typically fly Escort or SEAD Escort, and the situational awareness that comes from the Datalink in those cases is, in my humble opinion, necessary.
OK try again , not “Show Package” but “Show Flight” There is no bug.
I will look again, I did not see a Show Flight option last night when I was piddling around, but when I get a chance I will try to confirm.
I am familiar with how building a package normally works, it’s just that in Multiplayed the box always shuts down after I hit okay on the flight window, which is stopping me from adding more flights immediately.
-
You can’t you have to do it over again for each additional flight in the package when creating in a remote server.
-
Right click the package in the ATO, to see “show flights”
